"you can add a medley in the set if you know the chords to the song youre grouping in. the band wont be able to follow, but thats fine. they can chill for a minute til you move back into the list."

"planned Spirit led worship. pray while figuring the set, pick what order then practice them so you have a good handle and when the set comes on sunday (or whenever), you play it in the direction the Spirit moves. heck, if you feel led to start a…"

"That's right, Bruce. Sometimes I'll go into it thinking, "This is going to turn out great!" And it ends-up not so good because of a prideful attitude or something else... And sometimes I'll think, "I don't know if…"

"Spot on Benjamin. He most certainly is amazing, unworthy as we are, or feel, He never lets us go for one second, and is working through our weaknesses continually. Why He hasn't given up on me, I'll never understand, but He hasn't,…"

"Yes, Lorraine! I will never be in a perfect frame of mind. If you think you are, you are lying to yourself, right? We need to be obedient and as faithful as we can be and let God do the work inside. He is amazing!!"

Lorraine Doswell replied to Charles Smith's discussion 'Planned or Spirit led Worship?'
"Yes, I am just coming out of the desert after a two year struggle with myself. It was hard at times being obedient to the worship, as I often felt awful inside. I know there are those who will argue that you should be in the right frame of mind to…"

"No I mean the english word. Since most of us here speak english, it seems rather fitting. I'm not going to argue - as you seem rather argumentative. I was merely trying to be humorous. We'll just chalk it up to a *fail* :) God bless."

"Hi Jeremiah - You can't really take an English word and construe the meaning of a Hebrew word from it. You mean shachah? The word itself is a root having different meanings at different times. The most often used sense is to "bow…"

"If you chase down the word root of 'worship' you'll find 'obeisance' as an English root, which derives from 'to obey'. Can't get much simpler :)"

I am eternally grateful for God allowing me to serve him in the ministry of music and worship. For me worship goes way beyond the songs we sing it is a life surrendered to God in love and obedience truly this is what gives our songs meaning and causes our worship to be acceptable to God.

Hi, Charles!

Thanks for your comment on my post. I fully feel your frustration over the type of people at your first church. People like that call us fleshly and unspiritual... :) Continue to give your best to the Lord!
