Are You Steppin' Out ON God, or Steppin' Out WITH God?

The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
Psalm 37:23  (NLT);
The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.
Psalm 37:23 (NKJV)
Today's meditation might be problematic for some because your mind might go somewhere other than where it should go.  But stick with me -  I'm going somewhere.  God knows every possible detail of our lives.  For those who love the Lord, and have lined up our lives according to His design, our steps are ordered by Him.  So that means that nothing that happens in our lives is by accident - God already knew about it.  He already knew the steps we would take.  But how many of us can say that there have been times in our lives when we thought we had it all together; thought we had life all figured out.  We may have even gone so far as to say we had God all figured out.  But then there may be another group of us that said, "I'm tired of trying to figure God out.  I don't want to wait on God anymore.  Walking with God is just not working for me.  Prayer is old fashioned.  I got this."  Oh, really?  Well, you just stepped out on God.  You used to love Him, spend time with Him, talk to Him, consult Him about your plans or dreams.  But then you decided you could go it alone.  You used to step out with God.  Now you've chosen to step out on Him because your faith is now in some other source - you no longer rely on God for direction.  You've stopped building your prayer life, perhaps you cut off fellowship with the saints or decided you don't need God's Word preached to you anymore.  David was a  man after God's own heart and He walked close to God while Saul was trying to kill him, but then He saw Bathsheba; you know how that turned out.  David stepped out on God.

What about you?  Have you decided to tip out on the One who loved you first?  Have you decided God is out of touch with your situation?  Or maybe you decided to "take a break" from God.  Or did God fix your circumstances, or heal your pain and then you decided you didn't need Him anymore?  He's calling you back.  He wants you to walk with Him, rather than against Him.  You can't have it both ways.  You can praise God because He is always right there for you.  No matter where you go or what you've done, God is waiting on you.  Go to Him with a sincere heart and He will receive You and place you back on track.  You'll find out how much sweeter life can be knowing God is ordering your steps.

Make today the day you step out with God.
