James 1:2-4
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

A few days ago I was watching the movie A Perfect Storm. I’ve seen it lots of times, but this time it was different. The Holy Spirit put a different spin on it. So I looked up the meaning of “perfect storm.”

One source describes it as "an event where a rare combination of circumstances will aggravate a situation drastically." Still another said it is "a critical or disastrous situation created by a powerful concurrence of factors."

"Perfect" is described as "lacking nothing essential to the whole; complete of its nature or kind."

Yahweh is perfect in everyway. I don’t know what that means, really. I can’t grasp it in my mind, but I know it to be true, because the Holy Spirit told me so. He never lies to me. He is the Spirit of truth.

I realized that throughout my entire life I’ve been experiencing perfect storms. Some of the storms that come my way, I straight up bring on myself. Other things just seem to happen like what happened to Job.  In the midst of these storms, I always call on God to help me.  I called on Him even before I knew I was chosen by Him in Christ.  And, each time, He preserves me.  He doesn’t pull me out of the storm.  Instead He saves me in the midst of the storm. This is Yahweh's way.  He is so faithful.

I've always known that God will preserve me. Why else would I have called on Him even when I was wayward, when I was a sinner?   If I thought someone else had the ability to help me, I would have called on that person. But, I didn't. I’ve always called on God.

Each perfect storm is a trial, a testing of my faith to bring about complete trust in Christ. Trusting Him completely means that I will be mature and complete, lacking nothing.

In fact, I'm in the midst of a perform storm right now with the Holy Spirit in me.  We are in it together.

Romans 8:28-30
"... And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified."
