Over the last few months when struggling with various things going on in my life one song has kept helping me through difficult times. It's called 'Made me Glad' and it's by Hillsong. The lyrics (and melody if you know it) are so uplifting and faith building i'm sure you'll agree:
I will bless the Lord forever
I will trust Him at all times
He has delivered me from all fear
He has set my feet upon a rock
I will not be moved
And I'll say of the… Continue

Step out boldly in the empowering grace of God, for He has called you to be a light in the darkness, a city upon a hill. Surrender your brokenness to a Saviour that enables. Stand in your brokenness before a Spirit that empowers. And, falling to your knees, ask for the wisdom to break from all that hinders you from being all that God has planned. May the power of His Spirit enable you as you walk upon His path. May the love of God surround you, as you daily take your cross. Let not the problems… Continue

So today I'm supposed to lead worship but I have this horrible case of laryngitis that keeps me from leading. It was a blessing to be able to be a part of the congregation for a change. I got to listen to the different instruments and hear how they all play so well together. My son drums every service and it was such a joy to really get to listen to him play. He has grown so much in his playing ability in the past 5 months and I am so proud of him. My husband plays bass and I love to listen for… Continue

Evil cannot exist when the Holy Ghost is present. Praise Him when you're feeling down. Sickness bothering you? Depression? Grief? Weakness, sin, everything seem to be going wrong? Praise is the prayer that changes all things, Sickness , Pain , Sin, ETC. CANNOT BE PRESENT WHEN HE IS. My Pastor's Wife, Sister Karen Channell always says "Bless yourself!" Let us come into His house with thanksgiving and with praise. I found that when I am praising the Lord I feel better. We can bless ourselves. We… Continue

Wow, it's past midnight here (Georgia/USA - EST) and I'm finally headed to bed. Wanted to send out a quick note to all the friends here on Worship the Rock ... hoping that you had a glorious time in worship today.
Sometimes we have some hiccups and mistakes in our worship services - they can tend to get us down. For those who had one today - be encouraged and be strong.
We had several incidents happen in our first service today, but recovered. I… Continue

We are from Kerala the southern state of India. Basically very good in Literacy. But failed to keep social peace and stability. Attack against children and women are dangerously aroused as the years go. Gang rape is common in the society. Police officers, Political leaders and other dignitaries are the culprits now. Last year 3000 women and children are missed from the society. Many become orphans due to many kinds of imbalanced life style. Abused wifes and children really common to society.… Continue

Dear family, friends & partners in prayer,
First I want to wish you a very belated "Happy Easter" and hope you had a great Resurrection Sunday with your loved ones.
My Easter Visit

I am new to Worship the Rock. I just wanted to say how much I have enjoyed having an outlet for discussion. It is nice to have other worship leaders to have conversations with. I also wanted to let you know that I have some music I recently posted. I would love to have your constructive criticism on it. Also you can check out my myspace at : myspace.com/jongerten.

We, as a congregation need to come to the realization that it is NOT about the music. Its not about singing the songs or dancing around, it is ONLY about God, for He is worthy. How is it that we can stand in a crowd of 5000 "Christians" "worshiping" and fail to see the glory of God, fail to give Him the glory. How has music and song, such an intricate part of David's worship, become the object instead of the platform for worship.
How about, for one Sunday, instead of our normal… Continue

Powerful, please read and send!!!
Guess our national leaders didn't expect this, hmm? On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton , Colorado , was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful.
They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to… Continue

As I was thinking about "tips for singers", I thought back on "Directions for Singers" written by John Wesley for a Hymnal published in 1761. He was providing direction for how people ought to sings those "newfangled hymns"...a 1760's version of contemporary worship tunes...
I read through his work, thought about how we might express his thoughts today and came up with these seven "tips for Christian singers" Let me know what you think about… Continue

It's a sad time in the World right now. My heart breaks and aches everyday to the thought of where our country has gone. Please, if you are a born again Christian, pray this prayer daily with me and other Christians. Together, we can tap into a power that’s bigger, better, and stronger than the so-called leaders of our country.
"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says,’ Woe to those who call… Continue

II Chron. 7:14
AFTER A DAY OF CONTEMPLATION AND SOUL SEARCHING, I HAVE DECIDED TO REACH OUT TO MY FRIENDS AND RELATIVES AND ASK YOU TO CONSIDER SOMETHING.
OUR NATION IS/HAS BEEN ON THE SLIPPERY SLOPE TO HELL FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU LOOK AROUND YOU WILL FIND CORRUPTION, GREED, MORAL DECAY AND A STEADY MOVE AWAY FROM THE THINGS THAT MADE US GREAT.
THE PRINCIPLES UPON WHICH THIS NATION WAS FOUNDED ARE NO LONGER OUR BACKBONE. HOWEVER, WE CAN REVERSE THIS… Continue

I was blown away during worship this morning. People were asked to dance in celebration of the Risen Lord. Small children went forward as well as some older ones. While the song went on,(My Redeemer Lives) there were people dancing and celebrating, but then something caught my eye.
A gentleman who had just suffered a heart attack on Thurs Apr 9th. and had surgery as well was up strutting around clapping his hands in praise. I was amazed. God is awesome. Speaking to him later he told me he… Continue

I am sitting in the upper room, numb with pain, alone in shock
The day of hell that You endured, has left you buried behind a Rock.
Today is Saturday: the Sabbath Rest,
And yet I find no peace in this.
Oh Jesus you're dead, buried and gone,
And in this upper room I mourn.
I loved You as a mother could,
Every ounce of strength and guidance would
I give to you my first born Son,
If only I could be… Continue

"Time Between Times." Good Friday marks the death of Jesus. Easter marks his resurrection. Between the two is a time between times, neither one nor the other. It is a time of absence, of loss, of longing. As much as we, in this time, may feel that loss, we have the advantage of knowing what happens next. As the Carmen song puts it, "Sunday's on the way!"
We've just come from a moving Good Friday service. At the start of the service, the communion table had been set with a number of… Continue
