I'm not aware of any cases in the Bible where someone was healed or saved who wasn't interested in being healed. I suppose you might count children who were healed at their parents' requests, but I think it's safe to say that God hasn't given us a record where He's overridden someones free will.
So how would you go about praying for the restoration of a marriage when one of them either isn't a Christian or is at least a "fire insurance" christian? I mean you can pray that they would… Continue

I know that this blog is a bit late in coming, but I hope that it will be worth the wait for you. At the beginning of each new year, there is always a lot of talk about vision for the future. I would like to take you on a bit of a different road-and offer you the opportunity to see the year ahead from a different perspective.
In thinking about the year behind us and the one ahead, I have three words for you. Build, build, and BUILD!
First and foremost, build your… Continue

The story is told of an old man who lived on a farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky with his young grandson. Each morning, Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading from his old worn-out Bible. His grandson, who wanted to be just like him, tried to imitate him in any way he could.
One day the grandson asked, "Papa, I try to read the Bible just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading… Continue

Part 1 - God is a mystery
It has been said that to keep the romance alive in a relationship, one should always keep a little bit of mystery about themselves. Or that one should have a touch of unpredictability. The same could be said of God. God compares His relationship to us on one level to the relationship between a husband and wife. But where we can never have any mystery about ourselves to God, we can never truly say that we know all there is to know of God. He is always a mystery and… Continue

I don't know what this year holds for me and my family, but as always, I am trusting God with our futures. We welcomed a new addition to the family on Nov. 26th of last year, Jonathan Lennon Cowart. It's a lot different having a baby boy, after 2 girls... but I'm glad because he seems to be very close to my wife as the girls are very close to me. I think she understands the whole concept now of a "mama's boy", and "daddy's girls". I am still leading worship on Sunday's for The Grace Place and… Continue

Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have… Continue

I'm hearing the voice of God so much more clearly these days. It's in all the little things of life. Wow! I've wanted that for so long and now here I am. I love it! And I love that He's got a sense of humor. In fact, He revealed it tonight when I went to the pantry to find some crushed pineapple for a recipe I was making. I looked for it just minutes before and didn't see any, but when I went back, there it was. I got such a thankful kick out of that that I heard God say with a chuckle, "It… Continue

"There are some things money can't buy, for everything else there's Master Card."
I'm sure you've all seen those commercials on TV.
Well, I'm not unlike those agencies promoting their favorite credit card.
However, I'm here to advertise a different card.
You see, my life is a commercial for others to see.
I'm a card carrying representative for the MASTER'S CARD..
That's right, the MASTER'S CARD.
Let me tell you about… Continue

You're never in a room by yourself.
If you're Gods child and wear His name,
He's there with you.

Sometimes you get your greatest blessing,
When you praise God when you don't feel like it.

Dear one in Christ,
I was greatly encouraged by this fwd and thot how we can live in the comfort zone and slowly become ineffective Christians. The devil is so subtle in slipping this kind of an attitude in to our life. Thaank God for great spiritual leaders and Christians who exhort and remind us and constantly keep us on our toes. Be blessed reading this fwd as I was.

The power of prayer - How do I utilize it?
The power of prayer relies on the assurance that the God of the Universe is listening to you. Since prayer is a two-way communication between you and God, you will always receive an answer to your prayers! It might be YES, NO, or NOT YET. This may surprise you, but unanswered prayer does not exist. Sometimes, we feel like God has not answered, but the reality is that sometimes we don't like the answer we've received.
How can I say… Continue

1.Express your love and appreciation for God’s power (Psalm 18:1–6). Begin by thanking God for things that are humanly impossible to provide (creation, peace, grace, the Holy Spirit, salvation).
2.Make your “conversation” a joyful attitude towards others (1 John 4:7–8). A self-righteous attitude stops prayer dead in its tracks! It’s still gossip when you share the “juicy details” with others in the name of prayer. Pray with a compassionate heart and watch God breathe joy… Continue

1. Wake Up !! Decide to have a good day.
"Today is the day the Lord hath made; let us rejoice and be glad in it" Psalms 118:24
2. Dress Up !! The best way to dress up is to put on a smile. A smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
"The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart." I Samuel 16:7
3. Shut Up !! Say nice things and learn to listen. God gave us two ears and one mouth, so He must have… Continue

Life can get so hectic. People can get so caught up in going to school and going to work and whatever they have to do each day that they forget why they wake up each morning. God didn't put the breath in our body just for us to waste it on foolish things that will eventually fade away. Nothing here on earth will go with us when we die. So why are we more focused on the things that are tangible than the things that really matter? Yes, we have to work in order to eat. The Bible teaches that. But… Continue

Ok where can I start? I grew up in the 50's and 60's. I remember Tent meetings and two 2 weeks-long revivals. I remember song services that could last for half an hour to an hour, easily. I remember services where the pastor would never get to preach sometimes, when the Glory of God would come down from Heaven like a Thunderstorm, Like a "Rushing Mighty Wind," and fill all the house!
I remember not getting home untill nearly 1:30 in the morning at times. I remember People "Amen"ing a lot… Continue

This is what I am... I am a Temple of The Living God! This is what I was born to be. The Lord inspired me with a song several years ago saying that very thing,
And I pray that I will always know the strength to remain with Him. I play guitar, and drums, and sing, And I've ben writing Gospel Music for many years.
Since durring a service night when when I couldn't find anything in the entire songbook that said what I was feeling. I started praying for help with what I felt,
And He… Continue
