The SONGS: the stories....
Beautiful -- speaks to and for all 'little girls' who have fallen prey to societal lies and pressures. The Lord bids us : Come Away! I listen to it again from time to time to remind myself of God's take on the whole beauty thing! The amazing Steven Abeyta caught this vision and helped form a beautiful piano part. Thanks Steven.
You -- A light worshipful song written from an exuberant heart to fun music written by the very talented Mike Levesque! This song wrote itself as the music just needed a mouth and mine was available... (Mike we need to finish this one day!?)
Eternity -- A new song. I didn't know at the time why I was writing this -- but I couldn't stop. It came pouring out one night really late after days of feeling deep sorrow. Now I know. God willing, we'll continue developing this for "In Your Midst Ministries" and "A Safe Place Abortion Recovery Center". So thankful to have connected with the inspiring Mary Comm - founder of these desperately needed ministries. (Steven Abeyta on keys again).
Letters Home -- This is a song inspired by a letter left behind by Matthew Murray to his wonderful parents & my beloved friends; Ron and Loretta Murray. Matthew this is your song...you are home.
Trust -- set to the sweet music of Mike Levesque, this song to me is a breath of fresh air as it reminds me to TRUST the one and only! We all know what it means to free fall into the lap of the Father. I've written more verses and a bridge .. just need to get this one re-recorded too!
Child of Promise -- This is for my dear friend Loretta. Though we can't see the fufilment of the promise through the haze of grief... a promise never dies. (Steven Abeyta piano)
Father's Calling -- Another song born of the tragedy that speaks of God's constancy. When Matthew was driving to New Life Church toward the horror, his own father was calling him .. and calling him... and calling him. Cell phone records revealed that at every turn of these events, God was continually reaching out to Matthew through the voices of his family and friends. God was not caught unawares...he was calling. (Steven Abeyta piano)
Going Through -- this is for David and Marie Works. I can't imagine what you are going through.. but I know who is right there with you. (Steven Abeyta piano - rough demo)
Emmanuel -- I love the word and the meaning of Emmanuel or Immanuel. I just love singing about God with us... [Imanu'el (עִמָּנוּאֵל "God [is] with us" consists of two Hebrew words: אל (El, meaning 'God') and עמנו (Immanu, meaning 'with us'); Standard Hebrew ʻImmanuʼel, Tiberian Hebrew ʻImmānûʼēl). It is a name used in the Bible in Isaiah 7:14 and Isaiah 8:8. It also appears in Matthew 1:23 in the New Testament.]
Final Bow -- Ever write a song, poem, letter ... that you didn't want to write? This melody gave way to the story of one in the last stages of life as they approach their final bow. Although I didn't write it for any one person/circumstance.. I'm afraid it could be claimed by far too many. I personally know too many who've gone on too young.. especially mothers who fought valiantly with breast cancer. Mike Levesque music again... :).
The Song in Me -- This is rough .. and way long..rambles.. and meanders. Based on the experience of my friend in the grocery store as she witnessed a mom who 'missed the song' of her little one. How many of us can relate to getting caught up in the race and running over the song in our most precious... My sweet Mike plays guitar. I've cut it in half ... now need to redo.
Into Your Hands -- Mike Levesque handed me a demo of music he called "Into Your Hands" and this song emerged it fragments that gently strung togather. This recording is pretty rough.
O God -- so many Psalms include this prayer.. O God. I say it a thousand times a day. (M. Levesque music - AGAIN)
The Other Side -- a song concept written to Mike Levesque's track for all those trapped in the hamster wheel of self promotion, ambition and works -- from one who was trapped for a long time. I've written the finish to this... yeah yeah .. one day.
The Voice that Rages -- This is a spontaneous song that emerged when I listened to an instrumental from Steve Burgess.
For Heaven's Sake -- A children's song from Naptime Productions, Inc.
Always -- I think of this as a love song Mary would have sung to her sweet Father while pregnant and pondering ' the sacred within' her. Dramatic... and oh so very long. Forgive my self indulgence on this one I just get lost in the vision....
Aprill's Fool -- This is the first 'grown up' song I ever wrote. It is inspired by a young 19 year old woman I met while I was still a Hospital C.O.O. (another life...) She was a patient who was airlifted to us in great distress. Her airway had closed off with cancer and she was placed in an induced coma for quite awhile. I would secretly steal away to hold her hand, pray for her ...and weep. God used her greatly as she yeilded to his mighty hand. Even lying in stillness, God's power coursed through her to 'heal hearts' and 'erase scars' in every one from attending nurses, to hardened physicians to her own splintering family. God miraculously healed Aprill and last I heard she was starting nursing school in New Mexico. I pray that God continues to draw many to him through her mighty testimony.
No Way -- Children's song about saying NO to the enemy... sort of the basics of spiritual warfare. Kids seem to get it so early!
Show and Tell -- a Kids song about evangelizing and being our best for Jesus.
Stay Awhile -- I guess 7 years of living in Oklahoma left me with a little bit of country... This is a fun song to sing .. although I think I tried to put on a Johnny Cashy vocal to it that failed miserably! HA! It's just a good reminder of the joy in being with God who "bowls me over with a big bear hug" daily! (fun fun fun music by M. Levesque)
Times A Wastin -- Fun kids song about letting go of anger and drinking up the cup of love!! Kids seem to love this reggae grove and the message.
Wild Vine -- All those inner voices, parts and pieces of me that go astray. The wild vine of our human condition and the God of patience that tames us with His love. Groovy M. Levesque music again.
One More Time -- God never tires of re-breathing me from the dust! (rough recording to sample based track :~)-gotta start somewhere!)
