Found this interesting article and it has some great points regarding music and singing. How in many churches this has changed and the challenges today with technology, rock band driven music and…Continue
"It was so fantastic and it touched so many. this is a very diverse event with even some none English speaking Hispanics. Together we are one - strong, spanning the globe. Thank you so much! It was as if God had you write this…"
"Hi Joe. Don't know if you remember me. About nine months ago I asked for your permission to use your song We are One for our woman's conference here in the USA in Lake Geneva Wisconsin. You gave it and I wanted to send…"
"I grew up in Chicago, and assumed that cows went out in the day and came back from the fields to be safe in the barn at night. But actually, at least in warm climates like Arizona, or in summer, they like to stay out and moo and munch at…"
"Ohhhhhhhhkay... since I'm now a Methodist, I guess I'll weigh in! This week, we're singing "Lord of the Dance", not just in the traditional service, but in the "contemporary" as well. (hey, since over…"
"When I clicked "enter" on my previous response and left the page, I thought, "boy, am I going to start a firestorm here?"
But note, a comment from Paul in his letter to Corinth (10:7 ff.) Do you look at…"
""Gimme that Old Time Religion" is an interesting song, though. It speaks of a yearning for actual New Testament faith, for the Body to love one another, to be able to endure persecution, to practice a Christianity that has not been…"
"Good point. Yeah, I like it when the congregation sings along with our worship songs (confession: especially if it's one I wrote), but in our church it's more important that the congregation participates in mission projects, food…"
"Yeah, I won't sing "Gimme that Old Time Religion." And what with our church being one of those liberal west coast Methodist churches, we won't do Rich Mullins' "Awesome God" either, although perhaps if it…"
"It’s funny because when I started to write my first response, I initially wrote “why do we feel the need to measure?” But I toned it down to just point toward things less… well measurable. I sometimes look at the…"
"In the Bible, God never seems to measure, but only encourage worship.
Now maybe it's my own mindset: way back in college days a friend and I often talked about the analytical spirit; and since we were in a Pentecostal church we made it…"
"Basically we can talk nuts and bolts of worship until the cows come home but in the end what are we looking to accomplish? Participation is only part of the equation. There isn’t a direct proportion between congregational singing…"
"After ignoring the book of Galatians for many years (except for gleaning from some of its powerful concepts, such as the "Fruit of the Spirit" passage), I've recently taken such an interest that I tried to make it into a musical or a…"
Milwaukee Evangelical Covenant Chruch, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
Singing, Bass, Guitar, Song Writing, Song leader, Vocal Coach
I am currently with my Husband the Music Leaders/Ministers in our Church. We don't particularly care to be called Worship Leaders as we feel that is the Pastor of the church and not just about singing or music or "a band" that leads the singing. We work together to pick songs from across the ages and genres. We strive to make it all singable for most so we can raise our voices together.
I work a full time job in Human resources
I love the older CCM from the 60s - the late 80s the best. I love all different styles and genres. I don't find most mainstream CCM interesting but more formulaic and is not suitable for church congregation singing even though many use it as worship.

Hello Alicia Kardell
Thought I'd say hello. So sad that
Andrae' Crouch passed, 72 seems young at my age. I'll miss him. The Gaither's Vocal group has been around since I was young. Hope they are for years to come. I love Hymns, praise & worship, and Christian ballads.
