Psalm 85
1 Lord, You have been favorable to Your land;
You have brought back the captivity of Jacob.
2 You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people;
You have covered all their sin. Selah
3 You have taken away all Your wrath;
You have turned from the fierceness of Your anger.
4 Restore us, O God of our salvation,
And cause Your anger toward us to cease.
5 Will You be angry with us forever?
Will You prolong Your anger to all generations?
6 Will You not revive us again,
That Your people may rejoice in You?
7 Show us Your mercy, Lord,
And grant us Your salvation.
8 I will hear what God the Lord will speak,
For He will speak peace
To His people and to His saints;
But let them not turn back to folly.
9 Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him,
That glory may dwell in our land.
10 Mercy and truth have met together;
Righteousness and peace have kissed.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth,
And righteousness shall look down from heaven.

Still On The Throne (Psalm 3)

Psalm 3 is believed to have been written during one of the lowest points in David's life when Absalom was usurping the throne from him. David says, "You Oh Lord are a shield around me..."

A little over 3 years ago just after coming on staff as the youth pastor/worship director at CCSE my wife was diagnosed with a terminal lung condition. It was such a hard time, but the Lord was so faithful. During one of our pastor's prayer times the Lord gave me the words to the Chorus as I was led to thank Him that He was still on the throne.

It seemed to fit so well with David's cry to the Lord in Psalm 3. So the verse and bridge were written by King David many years ago, and the chorus was and is my prayer of rememberance.

Thank the Lord my wife is doing well. She is on a medicine that runs in through a port 24/7. It keeps her alive, and has slowed the diseases progression down for now. We thank Him for every new day He gives us and pray that the testimony of His faithfulness in our lives will be used to encourage and bless others.
