This vid is the result of years of enduring all kinds of odd people who try to play drums for church - and how you can reduce your chances of undergoing the same kind of pain I went through. What should you look for in a worship drummer?

Thank you so much for uplifting words! I really needed a hand up! hehe,To ur ? about have i talk with my other band member. Yes i have,,, this is what happened byrane and I, ( my bestfriend) Have been playing together for many yrs,, BUT we where playing in the world, so about 7 yrs ago we both found the LORD and began a band for GOD, Of course the other members at that time ran like we had grown horns, hehe,, so we play alone until 8 months ago,, We got my brother to start playing bass guitar for us and all at once we where well known and every one started booking us! This was very exciting for Byrane and I, my brother was scared to death,, But once this happened and we had mamgers and so on,, They hired us a lead guitarist,, One we know and go to church with,, He really makes me feel as if i am nothing and cant do anything right, My brother and byrane both have the same feeling and they have told him,, but it seems as thou he has gotten worse than before, so plz do pray for our band,, we are suppose to play for the Glory of God not our own glory,,, thanks for talking to me,,, and lifting up my spirit!! Ellen

I think u are are right on, I have been playing for many yrs, I have a lot of trouble just because i am a woman drummer. I think as long as u are playing for the glory of our Lord,, and Have the three T's u should not be judge so unfairly. My band and I have our own kind of music and write our own stuff, Like i said before our cd is coming out next month, Ok during this time we hired a new guy to play lead , He is amazing and very loud, Shew!!, when practice is over i feel like my ears are bleeding, I never say a word, just pray, about this problem, BUT back to the subject,Since we hired him he has done nothing but put me down and smart off at everything I do, even if i dont do it he seems to think i am his whipping post,So yes i agree about the three t's ,, But also be sure not to judge to quickly,, Loved ur advice ,,, nice going and im praying for u and ur new trip to cali.

A lot of this video is directed against people who think their sincerity is enough to overcome their lack of ability. ANd with the amazing amount of free drum lessons available on Youtube, I think there really isn't any excuse! :)

Having been a "drummer" for over 45 years, and also serving in a position as guitarist, bass player, and singer, I think that if we are going to let people grow in their gifts, we have to be leinient to a degree. A person who is truely using their gift to serve the Lord, will have all the attributes that a "band" needs, if they are sent from God. Some people have never taken a "lesson" in their life, but have been given a Gift, for His glory. Be careful not to judge, but careful to hear from God.
