November Spirit & Truth Newsletter + New Worship Video & More!

I posted recently on facebook that I was amazed at how fast this year has gone by. It’s hard to imagine that Thanksgiving and Christmas is already upon us once again. As we enter the season of festivities and holiday cheer, we will soon observe Turkey day for what it means but at the same time it has also become an official start for the Christmas season.

As I look back this year and even more recently, I have been taking stock in all that has happened and all that God has been in doing in my life, family, ministry etc… I’m sure many of you reading this right now have had some difficult times this year as I have had, especially the way the economy has been the past several months. It has had an impact on the ministry and for some of you has had an impact on your job or income as well. But regardless of what we see right now in the natural, it’s where we put our focus and/or worship during those difficult times that determines our future.

As a worshiper, I read and study the life of David on a regular basis. David had many achievements, promotions and accolades in the word of God but it was the heart of David during the hard, difficult and life threatening times that really made him the true worshiper we’ve come to know. I want to direct your attention to Psalms 100. In this short psalm, we are directed to serve the Lord with gladness, not sadness. Let’s read it:

1 Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! 2 Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. 3 Know that the LORD, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. 5 For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.

There’s a lot we could discuss in this passage but verse four sums it up nicely,Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.”

As you know, it’s easy to pray; worship, serve God and go to church when all is going well and you have money in the bank. The question to you is - can you do the same when everything is falling apart around you? Only you can answer that when it does happen.

If there’s one thing I can share with you that may help and encourage you then this is it. Be happy and satisfied in your personal relationship with Jesus Christ first no matter what your situation is. When He is first in your life every day, the other obstacles and trials will not rob you of your joy, your faith and your thanksgiving unto the Lord. As this very chapter concludes in verse five, “For the Lord is good”, no matter what your situation is, God is always there with you. His mercy is everlasting!

In closing, as we prepare to gather together for Thanksgiving with family and friends, know that our first thanks goes to God above. He has blessed us more than we can count and more than we can ask for. He is truly a great and loving Father who desires to bless you and see you rise to be the sons and daughters of the kingdom here on the earth. Like David, a man after God’s own heart, continue to bless the Lord with your worship in every situation for you will truly see the hand of salvation in your midst. In 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Paul writes, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

Happy Thanksgiving and Blessings,

Damon Stuart
