Fear not, for I am with you; Isaiah 43:5
For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield. Psalm 5:12
You and I can walk in God's favor. The Word of God lays that foundation and we can stand firmly on it. In my book I devote a couple of chapters to favor and fear. When you try to fuse favor and fear together, you'll find that they are like oil and water - they don't play well together. It is always good to know who we are in Christ so that the enemy cannot play havoc with us. Satan is the father of lies (John 8:44), but when we know what God's Word says about us, the lies and distractions of the enemy won't take root in our spirit. We have to know as saints that God has already given us favor. It is, however, up to us to operate in it. Too often we allow fear to take root. The Word says that fear is not of God (2 Tim. 1:7). We can surround ourselves with fear, but God surrounds us with His favor. If you walk in fear, you won't see God's favor over your life. Jesus invested too much in us at the cross of Calvary for us to operate in fear. When you run a check on the word "favor" you will find such descriptive terms as "pleasure," "delight," "goodwill," and "acceptance." Go ahead and apply for that job you don't think you're qualified for. Go ahead and search for your first house. Go ahead and start that business. Go ahead and dream; or dream again. Go ahead and water your God-given vision with the Word and prayer. If you know your vision is from God, then move forward in it as you stand on the Word of God. God has given us favor; He has not endowed us with fear. Make the choice to believe all that God's Word says about you.
