God speaks; His Word is the music
in every believer's ear.
His ways and His thoughts are the melody,
His heart is the rhythm we feel.
But the music is only sound in the air
'til we choose to respond and obey.
When we're moved by his music
to enter the Dance,
Love is the instrument God plays.

Faith is the Dance
Conviction and action, moving as one
Faith is the Dance
Give glory and honour and praise to the Son
Faith... Faith is the Dance

Regardless of age, place or circumstance
All are invited to dance
the Waltz of the Ages -- our partner is Christ
At Calv'ry He bought us the chance.
Then the Holy Spirit will stir in our hearts
So grace-filled that graceful we'll be.
We're raised to the heavens with each dancing step
and the Lord of the Dance we will see.

Faith is the Dance
Conviction and action, moving as one
Faith is the Dance
Give glory and honour and praise to the Son
Faith... Faith is the Dance

Olive -

I'd like to play around with this, see what I can do. A couple of questions:

- how do you feel about me tweaking the lyrics here and there? I'm starting to see your rhythms and rhyme schemes (there's an obvious 3/4 feel to the lyric, tho that doesn't necessarily mean that's how I'd set it :-), so it would be mostly a few places where it seems a little to "poetic" for my tastes.

- do you mind if I re-post this as a "discussion" under SONGWRITERS UNITED ? One of the advantages of making it a discussion is that .mp3 files can be attached to a discussion, but not to a blog, so if it's a discussion, I can post rough demos and such for you (and others) to comment on.

Well, Ryan figured out how to post a .pdf here, so maybe .mp3 files can be attached to blog responses as well.
Anyway, since Ryan came up with some music for your lyric, I'll probably just wait for the next one...

Okay Charles, what about my first blog as lyrics?

I'll take a look - it looked like maybe some other people were working on it, but I take it nothing has happened yet...
