I still have my obsession with clouds. I've grown to look forward to looking up in the sky each morning, to see what God has left me. It also gives me some "quiet" time with God. When was the last time you had some "quiet" time?
Oh, I know most of us "put time aside" to read the bible, or do our devotional...but how about putting away the bible and the devotional, and just sitting there in peace and quiet, and just...listening?
For me, there is always noise...TV, music,… Continue

If you're sat twiddling your thumbs, and fancy putting a voice to a name/photo from on here, I've got something that may help you pass 15 minutes....
Last sunday, I had the rare but cool opportunity to go on the BBC Radio Manchester Sunday Morning breakfast show.
I was being interviewed about worship leading, songwriting and my involvement in the RESOUNDworship.org project, and they asked me to bring my guitar too!
If you're having a coffee… Continue

My daughter and I had a rather intense textersation last night (text + conversation = textersation)
It went something like this:
"Hey mom, do you believe Obama could be the antichrist? I saw stuff about it online"
(ahh...the internet - THE place to go when you want to get your facts straight)
"ROFL no, that was a McCain commercial, and one in very bad taste" (really, I was surprised that McCain would actually make a commercial comparing Obama to Jesus and… Continue

Today was rent day, meaning house rent was due by today, or I would incur late charges and I didn't want to do anything to tarnish my pristine record. Anyway, I've been doing a lot of things lately to make myself a better Christian, like signing up with a website that helps people through issues and problems and provides them with a 60-day Bible study and accoutability program. I just finished getting my first order of T-shirts printed from a company here in Mobile that I will be selling along… Continue

I'm listening to the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
, and one of the habits is to seek first to understand, then to be understood. And it talks about empathic listening--not judging, not agreeing(sympathy) but feeling what they feel(empathy). And that this is powerful.
According to Covey, the first need that follows physical survival is psychological survival: You matter. Conveying to a person that they have value.
And what's more, Stephen Covey says, you can… Continue

From my Oswald Chambers devo:
We must never allow anything to injure our
relationship with God; if it does get injured we must take time and
get it put right. The main thing about Christianity is not the work
we do, but the relationship we maintain and the atmosphere produced
by that relationship. That is all God asks us to look after, and it
is the one thing that is being continually assailed
I like the metaphor of our relationship with God as its… Continue

That's a question that has been on my mind lately...
Sometimes I wonder why people do what they do...when they say they want to "do" something, and they feel they have a "gifting", yet they are not willing to put any effort into it...Is it really a "gifting" then? How can they feel good about this, and reap the benefits of using their gifts to build up the body?
This is how i feel -
God gave me gifts - He doesn't want me to keep them to myself, He wants me to use… Continue

I love how God loves to surprise us sometimes...you know, do something and then give you a poke, as if to say "AHA...see...I *am* here...PSYCH!!!" And you just have to smile and say "Ok God...I get it...for now...but please don't be surprised if you have to show me *again* some time in the near future"
I often wonder how He keeps everything organized...How does He hear us? Are our prayers just a cacophony of babble? Or can he somehow hear each and every petition cos he's...God? If… Continue

I was blessed today to have a rare week off the worship team, and was able to go to a new church. At the last minute, my daughter made carpool plans with another kid going to camp, so hubby & I have the "pick up duty" rather than the "drop off" duty which left me free to attend another church.
I have been wrestling for a long time with the "SISOSIG" syndrome - Should-i-stay-or-should-i-go at my present position of WL...it's been further complicated by the invasion of the… Continue

Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.
One of you will say to me: "Then why does God still blame us? For who resists his will?" But who are you, O man, to talk back to God? "Shall what is formed say to him who formed it, 'Why did you make me like this?' "Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use? - Romans 9:18-21

I asked you guys to lift them up in prayer a few weeks ago, and they need it again...Tricia's lymphoma (one of the possible complications from a double lung transplant) has not responded to chemo, so they're bringing out the big guns - This is not exactly easy, given all the anti-rejection meds Tricia has to take..
Please keep them in prayer...This family has a faith in the Lord that others yearn for, and their lives are a testament to God's provision for us...

I've been spending a lot of time on the computer lately; trying to sell some things on Ebay, setting up my WorshipTheRock page, updating my Facebook page, and monitoring my MySpace Music page. I don't know if anyone else ever feels this way, but right now everything seems to be very good for me and my family. I'm about to graduate in December with my teaching degree (and hopefully start teaching in January), I'm leading worship on Wed. nights for a wonderful church that treats me very good and… Continue

*DISCLAIMER*Please take the following thoughts as they were intended...humor with a bit of serious thrown in for good measure :-)
Did you ever notice that Christians have their own language? There are certain "catch phrases" that seem to be essential to any Christian's vocabulary, and we seem to love to flaunt our multilingual talents, especially in front of nonbelievers. Why is that? Didn't Christ exhort us to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in… Continue

I think one of the things I meditate on the most (and talk to God about the most) is the F-word...you know...FAITH...something we all strive for, but few attain? Oh, we have faith, but not that deep, unwavering faith that we all yearn for. And if you think you have it, let me ask you something - did you ever worry about anything? Because if you did, you don't have that unwavering faith.
When God & I were having our regular conversation (btw Lord, GREAT clouds today - and the rest… Continue

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. --- Matthew 28: 19-20

Fight From Heaven: An Unlikely Revelation
In my prophetic and songwriting classes, I exhort the students to keep their spiritual eyes and ears open to receive revelation from the Holy Spirit in myriad ways. Some are spectacular; like an effervescent sunrise or a drive through the mountains. More often, God speaks to me in the midst of the mundane. In the case of this blog, I heard from God through mis-reading a book… Continue

Did you ever have one of those moments, where God does something totally unexpected? I love those moments!
There were a few things that happened to me, that I truly feel were "God" moments...it was like "wow"...And what made me realize it was God, and no one else, was how I had been praying about these things...
It would take too much time to go into detail - but suffice to say over the past two days, I have had two wonderful things happen that resolved worries or… Continue

Yes more clouds LOL! God just has me looking up lately :-) Perhaps it's a way of staying in touch with Him (every time I see some nice patterns, I am sure to give him props) or perhaps it's to remind me to "always look up", but whatever, I am lovin' it...the serenity, the beauty, the quietness and peace you get when you look up at the clouds...NOW I know why I used to spend hours on my back lying in the grass looking up at the sky!
So, for those… Continue

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt[a] water flow from the same spring? --- James 3:9-11
Ahhh...I love the book of James. If you look in my bible, that and Job are pretty well worn LOL. Do you remember the Nike commercial on TV a couple of years back? Their slogan was "Just DO it!" - those three… Continue

Did you ever feel strongly led to do something? And you pray about it, consult with others, and everything sort of just falls into place, you look at each and say "GOD!" :-)
But then, something happens, and you lose your "God" moment. Then you begin to doubt that it was a "God" moment, that maybe it was a "self" moment...and you go back and forth and generally just drive yourself nuts trying to second guess God, which is silly when you think about… Continue
