Hey there! I'll bet that title got your attention! I wanted to take a few moments today and talk about some of my experiences in leading Worship. Well, overall, that will probably be a reoccuring theme in most of my posts.
So I guess I should start off by saying I've been saved for just a little over 10 years. I've been a part of worship programs in every church I've ever attended in that time--from the small (a dozen or so) to the large (over 1000+) in some capacity. I've played in… Continue
The other day, it came to me that one resolution really captures what the Lord has been showing me about myself. And if I can keep that one thing in mind this year, many other things I could resolve to do better will fall into place on their own.
Play more.
If I play more, I will play with my kids more.
Taking time to not miss the moments available to me, to enjoy them while they are still young, which is so fleeting. Not allowing my to-do list to… Continue

The young African student listening carefully as his missionary teacher in Tanzania explained why it is that Christians give gifts to each other on Christmas.
"The gift is our expression of our joy over the birth of Jesus and our friendship for each other," she said.
When Christmas Day came, the boy brought the missionary teacher a seashell of lustrious beauty.
"Where did you ever find such a beautiful shell?" the teacher asked as she gently ran her fingers over… Continue
It would be 2009. And now that it's on the way out;
My heart is aware and filled with gratitude for all the provision and support I have received throughout the past year. Many thanks go out to you, my family, friends, and fans for listening, caring and sharing yourself with me so graciously. We have achieved so very much with very little.
The economy has been trying us all and the news is often saddening. Our brothers and sisters, friends and family have had their… Continue

Okay. By now you're dashing through the snow at break-neck speed toward Christmas Day 2009. During the next few days, no doubt we'll hear the words "Merry Christmas" less and other phrases will be substituted such as "Happy Holidays" "Season's Greetings", and yes, even the dreaded...... "Merry X-mas"!
Now - before you get your tinsel all tied in a knot, may I offer some suggestions to help you sooth your righteous indignation when someone wishes you anything BUT a Merry Christmas?… Continue
Christmas is a time of joy and giving. Christians all over the world commemorate this occasion because "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son Jesus Christ that whosoever believes shall not perish but have everlasting life" - John 3:16
In our celebration, we proclaim the Good News with carols on the streets and we expressed the God's love to the world with our gifts to the needy and the orphans. In the midst of all these activities, do you know that the spirit of… Continue

Man change the blessed(Holy) day of God from the seventh day to the first day even if a person was to take the dictionary and look up Saturday it would say the seventh day and then if you would look up the Sunday it would say the first day and that is why many have no understanding because they refuse to do the true research just as when Christianity came into view many were forced to be converts or murdered if they were not God does not say murder He says you shall not murder but yet they…Continue

Well in my 20 years of serving the Lord in a traveling ministry, this is a first to have two cancellations back to back due to very bad weather. My event in Clinton, IA (12-13-200) & my three events for this past weekend (12-18-20-2009) Greeneville, TN, Lincolnton & Huntersville, NC were also effected by the recent snow storm.
Praise the Lord I didn't get stuck in the mountains and was able to get home safely.
Well Lord willing my next events are as follows
12/23… Continue
A few nights ago, a student of mine was messaging me, just random conversation. Sad that I'm moving , etc so on and so forth. She abruptly says, "you're religious right?" Now I paused for a moment, I could have gone into the theological aspects of it all, how religion is what's killed people, and how having religion and having God are different things. What comes out of a man's mouth can make him unclean (Matthew 15:10-11). However, getting into all this would invoke confusion, I didn't want… Continue

I did a Bible word search for the word “Praise” and it appears 296 times in the New International version of the Bible. I read through all 296 of them this morning. All but a six are in reference to praising God. It was a good exercise. By the time I finished - all I wanted to do was praise the Lord. There was no reference to man praising man. It actually speaks against it.
1 Corinthians 4:5 says: “…we will receive our praise from God.”
Perhaps I'm not creative as some who can come up with a tune AND lyrics. Maybe it's a good excuse to remember the tune of "Smoke on the Water." It could be that I still enjoy the blazing guitar solo(s) of "Free Bird." It's fun to take old songs and give them Words of Hope. But I have found joy at turning some of the songs from decades past and making them "born-again" if you will.
Our church does:
Tell the World of Jesus [tune of Listen to the Music]
My God [My Girl]

Music reading is a science within itself. There are many successful worship leaders who read very little or no music at all. However, they do know how to read the song. Much of singing has to do with phrasing and dynamics. Leaders who can emphasize the right parts of the song help congregations focus on the message better than those who do not.
We’ve talked about mood and the importance of using it to set the tone of a worship assembly. Proper phrasing is every bit as important as… Continue

I'm pretty new to this site, but I thought I'd share one of the songs I wrote several months ago.
It's a song relating to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
The song itself is pretty self explanatory, but as you read the lyrics, it really explains how Christ came down to free the blind sinners (us), when He had EVERYTHING in the Kingdom of Heaven. He came down to us, sent by the Father, the love that gave. Christ came down, shed His blood on the cross on the hill of… Continue
