For a whole two years we have been learning that worship is all about glorifying God, bringing honour, magnifying God. Worship means to honor God, respect God, to exalt God, to serve, to bless God, to prostrate, to sacrifice or give, to be in submission, to bow down and also to adore.
Worship is all about glorifying God that is the simplest definition we can put, but we have seen as well that singing is a form of worship. Singing, dancing and playing instruments is a form of…

Repentance: A Neglected Part of our Worship
This will be the first in a series of devotionals dealing with the various "positions" or attitudes that the true worshiper must take in order for our worship to God to be effective. The first position we'll deal with is repentance. When we…

Back-To-School Celebrations
Back-To-School Celebrations
It has never hit me like this before. All of a sudden church pews became empty, and I could not but try to remember who loved to seat where! I had given back-to-school gifts for many of our friends, especially those who have great aunties and uncles to my little all summer holidays long. So, we knew it will happen, but I never thought that the transitions will impact individuals in so many different…

Be Prepared: Praise, Worship, Pray, and Be Ready
Matthew 25:1-30
He is coming, Jesus is coming back and we do not know the hour. Are you ready, have you been preparing? We see throughout the bible that we are to pray, praise, and worship without ceasing. There are pockets in the world who are doing just that, however where is the church? Are we as a body preparing the way for the coming of Christ? Yes these pockets are blooming and people flock to them as the new thing to go to and come back to their home church…

Think about how do you worship a great and mighty God with such prejudice and ignorance and still expect God to bless you. Worship is indeed dangerous business when offered done wrongly.
God has set principles and laws that even He can not break whatever happens, God bless good and when you do wrong, you are forgiven by God but He will allow you to face the consequences of your action. We can’t just do what we feel like and worship him with such pretentious hearts, foul…

Thinking About Being on the Praise Team? Think Again...
One of the reasons King David is my favorite Biblical figure is because he knew how to construct a praise team. David did not say "Come one, come all. "The scripture tells us that David appointed individuals to minister music in the Temple. (I Chronicles 6:31). David knew how important it was that the proper atmosphere be set for God's house. There was so much excitement over the Ark of the Covenant being brought back to Jerusalem, that, again, musical…

Let Judah Go Up First
Now the sons of Israel arose, went up to Bethel, and inquired of God and said, "Who shall go up first for us to battle against the sons of Benjamin?" Then the Lord said, "Judah shall go up first." Judges 20:18 (NASB)
We know from Genesis chapter 29 that Leah named her 4th son Judah because with the birth of this son, she chose to praise the Lord. She knew that Jacob…

MUSIC - Is it spirit or vehicle?
The renowned Rick Warren Tweeted :
"Authenticity is NOT a style of music. What makes music authentic is the character of the musician playing it." This is wisdom that could support the connotation that "Music is a spirit". I believe that the "spirit of the musician" drives the intent of its delivery. Thus, the intended mission/ministry is accomplished (or hampered).

Worship and Wait
I am led of the Lord to write this article because as much as my life is tied to the worship of God, I have also experienced periods of waiting. We know from scripture that God is a God to be worshiped. In John 4:23-24 Jesus gives us His criteria for right worship. In Revelation Chapters 4 and 5 we see a lot of kneeling and bowing going on in the heavenly realm. And the prophet Isaiah's worship, in recognition of God's awesome majesty, moved him to repentance. (See Isaiah…

No More So Called Worship
Malachi 1: 6-10
Have any of us looked at our individual and corporate worship lately? Are we saying one thing yet living totally different? When we give our 2nd best yet promote ourselves as worshipers of God are we not just performing and going through the motions? As this happens we become prideful, “look at me” and the mind has you think I am awesome everyone will see have great I am. In that kind of deceiving lifestyle other people get shut out who have a heart of…
