"Time Between Times." Good Friday marks the death of Jesus. Easter marks his resurrection. Between the two is a time between times, neither one nor the other. It is a time of absence, of loss, of longing. As much as we, in this time, may feel that loss, we have the advantage of knowing what happens next. As the Carmen song puts it, "Sunday's on the way!"
We've just come from a moving Good Friday service. At the start of the service, the communion table had been set with a number of… Continue

Hi, I work with street kids in Albuquerque - every tribe & nation!
We have a high school "youth group" and in our youth group we do the standard - add worship.
But! The kids just sit there. don't participate, don't sing, nothing. we have a very small group.
Some of them churched, most not. We're a tiny church, not a lot of resources.
How do we make "worship" relevant to these kids? Any help / prayers would be greatly appreciated!

Did you ever find youself in a spot where you know your doing what God wants you do.
Some people shake your hand and tell you your doing a good job; Meanwhile the guy bhind
them wants you on the next bus out of town. I am there now I did not start to crame my message
down everyones throat nor did I buy a bus ticket out of town . I droped back and ponted so to speak
I ask God for courage to improve my message and technique. So that the one who where getting… Continue

It seems so often, in our 'modern' worship, as we come into a deeper relationship with God, as we view God on a more personal level, we lose sight of the magnitude of who God is. This isn't a new trend, but it seems to be more prominent in the way we now worship. Somehow we have lost the reverence, the awe when coming into the presence of our almighty Creator. Looking back on the people in the old testament and how at even a glimpse of God's glory they fell to the ground face-down, I begin to… Continue

I am Catholic. Born and raised. I love the traditions, the Eucharist, the universality of the mass everywhere around the world. But here's the thing. The Church is cold. I truly feel that most people are in their own worlds and come to mass just to worship by themselves and not be part of a community. It's real sad. My husband and I like to go check out cool churches we find out about around the city, both Catholic and not, and the coolest thing is that you walk into another Christian church… Continue

In my thirtynie running around this little land I call home I have learned a very important lesson.
God will never pass up a chance to show you you can do alot more then you think you can aswell
as showing you people are listening alot more then you think the are at the time. Not long ago I ask to sing
an Irish wake to honor a friend of mine that had passed on to his rewards. I shared Christ with this man many
times not really sure if heard me or not. until one day his wife… Continue

How, in the busyness of the workplace do we find the time (and the space) to worship God, without it being detrimental to our work. I guess the simplest answer can be found in "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17). If we're continually in communion with God we can be worshiping through all we do, whether its in our attitude to those around us, or thanking God for the simple gifts He gives us every moment of the day. But how do you go deeper with God, when the distractions of the world… Continue

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. (Romans 12:1 NIV)
Let us continue Paul's message about being "A Living Sacrifice". What does it mean to lay our lives on God's altar?
Since the days of the Exodus, wherever a tabernacle or temple stood, faithful Jews would bring the best of their flocks and herds to a priest standing at the altar… Continue

I've just recently come across this amazing piece of software called Spotify. It's similar to iTunes in design but basically allows users to stream songs for free, as long as they don't mind putting up with an advert every 20 minutes or so. The advert is similar to standard radio ads in nature and length. You can choose to pay to use it and you don't have any ads then - it's £10/month in the UK.
According to Wikipedia it's not available in the US yet but is available in the UK and… Continue
