*******IF ...WE DON'T TAKE CONTROL OF OUR MINDS - WHO WILL????*******

* 2 Corinthians 10:5* the bible says , we must learn to bring (every thought) into captivity. A big part of standing against the enemy of our souls is to take control over our minds. It really was astounding to me to find out ,

we don't have to entertain every thought that comes across my mind. I had a choice of whther to listen to them

or not. Do you ever have such thoughts as: If only I hadn't done… Continue

Found this, interesting: (For those of English descent)

To be found at the end of King Alfred's translation of 'On the Consolation of Philosophy'. (~9th c.)

O Lord God Almighty, Maker and Ruler of all creation, in the name of Thy mighty mercy, through the sign of the Holy Cross and the virginity of Holy Mary, the obedience of Holy Michael and the love and merits of all Thy Saints, I beseech Thee, guide me better than I have deserved of Thee; direct me according to Thy will and the needs of my soul better than I myself am able; strengthen… Continue

An Update...

(Radio announcer voice--On) And now, dear readers, we return to our story. After having been delayed by icy roads, the pastors arrived just in time for the sermon, the only item remaining in the order of worship. And now, on to today's episode of "As the Blog Churns!" (Radio announcer voice--Off).

It has been a while, so here's an update:

The following Saturday it started snowing heavily, causing us to cancel church for the 4th Sunday of Advent. The snow continued through… Continue

We Need To Praise God More

One of the secrets of experiencing the power of praise is to make a decision that you will worship God no matter what your circumstances are.When you get to the place where parsie comes automatically, no matter what is going on, you will come to know God more intimately. And when you do , you won't be able to stop yourself from praising Him.

Worshipping God is not just about singing praise songs in church ,once or twice a week. Although there is great power in doing that, it is more… Continue

He that Endures

Like a Lighthouse the light of Truth,

Love, and saving grace of Jesus Christ

shines upon the world to give us hope

that there is an answer,

Whatever the problems that we face,

And the hope of Eternal Life!

I believe there s only one way to be saved. by repenting and By being baptized in the Name of Jesus, by immersion, for forgiveness. (The immersion representing the Blood of Christ.) Now here my own personal beliefs difers from what a great many people seem… Continue

Bible Study on ... Trust

Trust

We cannot truly know the Lord, and He cannot know us unless we trust him. We must trust the Lord, trust that he knows

what he is doing, and that he, who loved us so much that he sent his only Son to die on a cross for our sins, so that we could

know forgiveness, and complete remission of those sins, (John 3:16.)

trust that he can, and will handle things. Trust that God Loves us, and will not fail us.

2 Samuel 22:31

As for God, his way… Continue

Bible Study on ... Faith

Faith:

Whenever most people are asked, What is faith? They will usually return the answer, faith is belief in something or someone. Christians may add, the substance of things hoped for, not yet seen. I believe that what faith is goes beyond these very valid answers.That faith is knowing with with absolute certiny, without any doubt, of something being true. The faith of a child is like this. A child's faith is without doubt. The child knows. Simply knows and does… Continue

Relationship, Faulty Belief Systems, and The Road Ahead...

As we notice the events taking place all around us, the loss of jobs by the thousands every week, the fear gripping consumers and the unrest throughout the Earth, I can't help but notice as I ponder all this, how much of the present day church has been duped. At the same time as these trials unfold, I am experiencing some of the closest fellowship with my brothers and sisters that I have ever known.

This scripture comes to mind:

Job 15:12-13

"Why has your heart… Continue

Preparing for a successful worship experience is much more than just a production or a combination of fast, medium and slow songs. After years of working in churches and conducting choir/worship seminars around the world I have discovered a tremendous need in this area in churches of all sizes. To pull off a successful worship service requires many… Continue

If you'd only stop and listen

Haha, ok so this is a poem I wrote in my freshmen year of high school. I just stumbled across it the other day and thought I'd throw it up here..crazy

If You’d Only Stop and Listen

The kiss of frost was there again.

You could feel it in the air.

Season’s pages had turned

And all the trees stood bare.

This morning was colder than the rest

A haunted shadow of winter’s early dawn

His hood nearly covered his eyes,

As he… Continue

Dont' really no what I am doing, just tinkering around. LOL

Hi. I have never really done this, so I am just playing around. So, today I had an orthodontist appointment. I have my right canine tooth that is stuck in the roof of my mouth, so I need to have it pulled down. Today they tightened the chain and it is really tight now. :( Now I have to do school. I am in 6th grade and it is a shame that any young person should be as stressed as I am. LOL.

Isaiah 41:17… Poor and needy seek water…Their tongues fail for thirst….

Pro 19:17…. He who is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward him for what he has done.

WE NEED YOUR PRAYERS FOR SAFE DRINKING WATER

Right now, 1.1 billion people on the planet don't have access to safe, clean drinking water. That's one in six of us. A large proportion of those suffering are in India.

The huge and growing population of India is putting a severe strain on all of… Continue

Everything is meaningless!

I just sat down with my Bible and read most of Ecclesiastes and once again I am bewildered by the book. I guess wisdom beats folly and we are to enjoy our hard work but everything is basically meaningless. I haven't finished the book for this reading so maybe tomorrow I will see something more positive come out of the book! There is nothing new under the sun. That I believe is true. It's all be done before. Not sure what else I have to say since everything is meaningless.

PRAISING GOD CHANGES THINGS

~~~PRAISING GOD CHANGES THINGS~~~~
by Brenda Hatridge
THE ENEMY COMES TO DEVOUR OUR LIVES, ATTACK US WHEN WE ARE MOST VUNERABLE AND ESPECIALLY WHEN WE TAKE A STEP TOWARD GOD.MANY TIMES WE MAY FEEL OVERWHELMED BY OUR CIRCUMSTANCES , BUT .. WHATEVER LIFE CHALLENGES COME OUR WAY, PRAISE AND WORSHIP IS ANOTHER FORM OF PRAYER THAT CAN CHANGE THINGS. BECAUSE THE DEVIL HATES WORSHIP , AND THAT IS WHY HE WORKS SO HARD TO TRY AND DEVERT OUR ATTENTION, BECAUSE HE CANNOT STAND IN THE… Continue
Living from Glory
Living From Glory
January 23th, 2009
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things are passed away- behold all things are new! (2 Cor. 5:17,18)
Once again I am reminded of the two statements that Mufasa the Lion King thundered from the heavens to his struggling son Simba, who was at the crossroads of default or destiny:
“You have forgotten who you are.” and
“You are more than you have become.”
I read in a recent article an… Continue
