About Me:
Passion. First for God, then for music. Waiting For Daybreak is a worship band with a desire to elevate God and connect people to Him. It’s clear that this band is here to worship God, as the first single, “God of Heaven,” states. “It’s all about Jesus,” says the songwriter, singer and guitarist Petri Nauha, who moved to Southern California from Finland in pursuit of God. “Without Him, I wouldn’t be where I am today, serving Him and using the gifts He gave me to bring Him glory.” And served he has. Petri has led worship at Crescenta Valley Church (www.cvchurch.com) for over 10 years and at The Church On The Way in Van Nuys, CA before then.

Musically, the band is planted square in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean with a unique mix of British pop – think Coldplay – and American rock guitars. Having been exposed to both all of his life and to current worship music during his years in the States, Petri brings all these influences into his songwriting, and the results are both likable and exciting at the same time. Their songs clearly demonstrate it, just listen to “God of Heaven” and spin “You’re My Everything” right after it. The rocking guitars of the first song give way to a bass riff and prominent keys on the upcoming second single, and the stylistic difference is clear, giving breadth to the band's sound.

The name Waiting For Daybreak comes from Romans 13:12, “The night is about over, dawn is about to break. Be up and awake to what God is doing.” God is moving in an amazing way in a hurting world, and the band feels honored to be a part of it. “We are very excited to see Jesus come into the middle of people's lives. There is so much pain and so many tears. Worshiping God can lift you above the circumstances into real freedom. We can feel so powerless, but He has the power to end all strife. Come, Jesus, come.”

A lot more music is on its way. Waiting For Daybreak will be releasing songs digitally as they become available, and the music will range from power chords to acoustic tracks. But one thing threads the songs together: An unrelenting desire to give God the glory and lead people closer to Him. “There is no greater feeling in life than seeing the people of God come together to worship Him in song, giving their all to Jesus. Absolutely nothing comes close. We can’t wait to lead worship with you!”

Moi Petri! OK... so I'm not really Suomi. But I am mostly Scandinavian (Norwegian). My Grandma said that she's 1/64 Finnish or something ridiculous like that. So maybe that makes me Finnish enough to join your group. I have some very good friends in Helsinki and have a special place in my hear for Finnish culture. :) I loved reading about your call to California. Feel free to say hi. Tervesin, Nick.

Though I am a bass player "by trade" I love playing guitar. Once I hear that growling distortion, I am "taken over" by the motto "3 chords and an attitude! (Always a GOOD attitude though. lol)
