"I love what Paul Baloche said about co-writing. He gets together with a friend, and they start by reading the word and singing familiar worship songs. They just go into God's presence and let His inspiration bring new songs forth! I believe…"

About Me:
Petri was born and raised in Finland, which gave him a different perspective on life. "When you step outside in the morning, the sky is still pitch black, except for some incredible northern lights, and it's -25 degrees, you know the day will be different from waking up in Southern California." After dabbling with various things there, he felt a call to move to Los Angeles, where he met his Savior, Jesus Christ, at The Church On The Way, and ended up playing guitar in pastor Jack Hayford's services while becoming a newly minted worship leader for the church's Young Adults group. "It was a great time of learning about God and worship, I remember as we fondly called the set list a "suggestion sheet," as we would follow God's leading, ending up switching songs on the spot. It was a great way to learn to trust leaders and serve with all you got."

A few years later, when he was preparing for the day, came life-changing words he heard God speak quietly into his heart, "This world has all the music it will ever need, my people need music." It was a turning point. After trying to get in the secular music business, Petri abandoned it all for God's call. "The songs started coming, and I've had a hard time keeping up! Whenever I ask for more, God pours out a bunch, and I use whatever is at hand to start recording. He's so faithful!" Since then, Petri has written several worship songs that have been cherished at Crescenta Valley Church, where he has now led worship for several years. This brings us to the new single, "Never Fade Away."

""Never Fade Away" is a passionate song about God's unchanging and eternal love. It helps the worshiper recognize His continuous presence in their life all the way to their last breath, only to wake up in heaven with Jesus smiling to welcome them. I am really pumped to get it released, and I'm hoping that many churches will be blessed by it."

Petri is continuing as a worship leader and artist. He is preparing more singles to be released in the coming months and is planning to eventually release a full-length CD. "I've been writing and praying, and will hopefully get to record a bunch of songs I have ready in the near future. I can't wait to see how these songs will bless God's people. That is my calling, that is my life."

Petri resides in Glendale, CA with his wife Karoliina and loves being a dad to their two kids, son Miro and daughter Tea. Their sheltie, Dora, makes sure that the herd stays together...

Moi Petri! OK... so I'm not really Suomi. But I am mostly Scandinavian (Norwegian). My Grandma said that she's 1/64 Finnish or something ridiculous like that. So maybe that makes me Finnish enough to join your group. I have some very good friends in Helsinki and have a special place in my hear for Finnish culture. :) I loved reading about your call to California. Feel free to say hi. Tervesin, Nick.

Though I am a bass player "by trade" I love playing guitar. Once I hear that growling distortion, I am "taken over" by the motto "3 chords and an attitude! (Always a GOOD attitude though. lol)
