Grumpy Fish now Happy Fish?

Posted on January 22, 2011 at 10:00pm 0 Comments

A recent article I read asserts that an alarming amount of drugs for humans are winding up in the environment, in this case fish in the St. Lawrence river.

Anti-depressants found in fish

"...leading scientists to wonder if the "happy hormone" is altering the lifestyle of the chronically grumpy-looking marine animals."

It's…

There was a recent discussion that perked my curiosity. Initially I didn't want to get too involved, but the thread got the better of me: Good Luck - Worse curse ever

Church: Country Club or Drop-in Center

Lately, something has been bothering me, and I thought I'd get it off my chest, and put it down on paper. I've been doing some soul searching about the local church. Obviously the newest fade is the "emerging" church, but I am not a fan of that movement. I'd much rather side with Philip Yancey and his book Soul Survivor, how as scared as he was growing up in a church that was not ideal, he knows that God loves his bride.

However, onto my main point, as I've been observing things at… Continue

Waiting for the Rain...

Posted on June 3, 2009 at 5:35am 0 Comments

For some reason, I've been thinking of what is now an older song, written in 1995 (or so the teens in the worship team I'm in tell me). The song is Matt Redman's "Find Me In The River". I've been especially thinking about 2nd half of the chorus:

Find me on my knees with my soul laid bare

Even though your gone and I'm cracked and dry

Find me in the river, I'm waiting here.

I liken this Kathryn Scott's "Hungry" and even a older Maranatha song, Martin… Continue

Wayne, thank you very much for your post on my discussion. Actually, it was pretty convicting for myself, as well. I realize that I have not been taking the worship ministry as seriously as I ought.

Also, I think your post is a confirmation of sorts. I have wanted to put together a youth worship team with my youth group; so many of them are very talented and very passionate about worship. A few years ago, we did a Youth Worship Night where the youth lead worship and one of the guys gave a small sermon. We have always wanted to do that again.

Thanks again, very much, for your input. Please pray for me! I really don't want to leave. I want to be an instrument of change, like you said. It looks a little hopeless right now. God's specialty, right?

I apreciate the advice, and I believe I'll be trying one of the Alesis drum kits first. I'm also considering using guitarpro 4. It'll do almost anying.(any instrument.) I'm not closing the discussion yet tho, in case this dosen't turn out like I hope!

Thanks for the kind words! I'm also a guitar player, and have also had to build some of my own pedal board components (and severely void the warranty on others :). Nothing quite as in depth as you've done, though. Awesome!
