I would like to get your opinions, please

I have been in church music ministry for about 24 years.  20 years of that time I served in traditional music churches and we sang primarily hymns.  But I love the contemporary worship music and tried to incorporate it when I could.  Over this time I saw a need for arrangements of hymns that can be used with contemporary worship.  Since need is the mother of invention I decided to do something about it. I have started producing a series of hymn arrangements that I call Traditional Hymns for…See More

Honoring God in Our Work – Part 1

Posted on January 22, 2011 at 5:25pm 0 Comments

I recently received this email and felt it was a good topic to share in some posts.

I was asked from the church that my family and I attend, to do a study and share at our winter bible school on how to honor God at work. I came across your site and what a blessing. I have never stood in front of 400 people before to share Gods word, and I really battle as to what chapter and verses to use ( referring to our jobs ). I spent a lot of time in prayer…

Hi Tim,

Thanks for contacting me and sharing your testimony.  I pray for your continued healing in Christ. By His stripes we are healed.  (Isaiah 53:5).

All those in Christ are ministers, ambassadors of the ministry of reconciliation.  In truth, God has committed us to the message that He reconciled the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. (2 Corinthians 5:18-21).

So no matter what your circumstance, you are His ambassador and He has committed you to be the messenger of His message.   This is your work.  In Him, you can complete your ministry.  He than began a good work in you, is faithful to complete it. (Philippians 1:5-7)

This is what the Word says.  Yahweh exalts His Word above His own name.  (Psalm 138:2)

His Word is true!

Peace in Yeshua!

Kim
