Are You Using Your Own Songs in Worship?

Another post reminded me of a discussion I had with 11 other worship leaders a year ago. Someone asked "how many of you have written new worship songs?" And nearly everyone raised their hand. Then he…Continue

About Me:
I am a worship leader and songwriter, but I am first a wife and homeschool mom of 3, waiting for two more boys to join our family from Haiti. Settling back it at the sending church, after 2 1/2 years leading worship for a church plant an hour away. Gearing up to take our own worship songs out on the road, and beginning the process of plugging back into to the worship ministry of our new/old church.

Making the Most of What You Have

Coming into this new year, and really for the end of '09, my desire for the worship ministry in my church has been to do more with what we have.

The majority of my worship leading experience has been with full bands. Bass, drums, lead player and maybe another instrument thrown in for good measure. It has been quite a learning curve for me, to find ways to play dynamically with our current band set-up.

We have two small worship teams currently, in our 2 year old… Continue

My One Resolution

The other day, it came to me that one resolution really captures what the Lord has been showing me about myself. And if I can keep that one thing in mind this year, many other things I could resolve to do better will fall into place on their own.

Play more.

If I play more, I will play with my kids more.

Taking time to not miss the moments available to me, to enjoy them while they are still young, which is so fleeting. Not allowing my to-do list to… Continue

Hi Spring. I'm new to the She Sings group. Well, new to the whole site, actually. I was going through the different songwriters within this group and you caught my eye. I'm also a homeschooling Mom. We have 2 kids. The youngest isn't officially in "school", but we've been hs'ing the eldest for the last 5 years. And the other thing that caught my eye was what you said about playing with your kids more. That caught me deep in my spirit, as I've felt the same. The years pass quickly and soon they grow. Time can never be replaced, and I'm learning to let the busyness of the day and life's pull not take me hostage.

I clicked over to your website. Beautiful music. Coincidentally, the penny whistle is something I've longed to learn to play and add to our band. I already play the flute, so perhaps it might be an easy transition. Any advice? I tried the bagpipe and sax years ago, but didn't have the lungs for either. Ha! Anyway, congrats on your album! May the Lord bless you. :-) Take Care!
