Home Church:
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, PA
Musical Gift(s):
Acoustic Guitar, Jazz Organ/Keys, Drums and Hand Percussion
About Me:
In 2009 I found out how easy it is to pick up on contemporary praise and worship music when I learned Jesus Messiah on guitar in A-flat (capo on the first fret instead of the fourth), which also opened up the guitar collection "war". I still love to play the gospel organ and write gospel but playing guitar has motivated me to explore more songs! Lately, this has evolved into writing CCM and arranging for a possible rock and roll Passion Musical. The Crescent budget guitar (also known as a lesson learned), a Jasmine S34C NEX cutaway and an Ovation Celebrity CC44 have found new homes. I now have an Alvarez Regent RD20U Dreadnought in DADGAD tuning, an Epiphone AJ-100, a Fender CD-110 in drop D, a 1999 Epiphone AJ2812SE NS 12-string, a 2000 Epiphone AJ-15E NA, a Yamaha F335, a Cordoba C3M (both of which are tuned D to D) and an Alvarez BT60E Baritone in Nashville Tuning! I also have two Yamaha keyboards , an EMU Tonewheel box to make the P-35 sound like a Hammond B3, a full set of Aspire Congas (plus two others) a djembe and a 7-pc Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage kit with Zildjian A-Custom Cymbals, a Wuhan 15" 5-sided Linear Cymbal, Gibraltar Cymbal Hardware, a KickPort for the front bass head, a DW 5000 pedal and Vater Sticks, Brushes and Mallets.

Sometimes all ya gotta do is slide up...

Hey this is Rev. Matt again. Okay all, at one time earlier we have struggled to figure out that one chord and then later on end up kicking ourselves in the butt when we realize...that's all it is! A prime example of this (which was also the same way I found out about this) was when I just happened to figure out to play a B-suspended chord and then slide down toward the headstock on the fretboard. Well anyway not only can i apply that to Open the Eyes of My Heart, I can also…

Hi everyone, I'm Rev. Matt from Johnstown. I was blessed to have had the priviledge-actually to have been asked to lead worship-for Celebrate Recovery on Friday. I had originally chosen a song list from writers from the UK-England but then I had to reconsider the fact that if anyone knew any of these songs...I'd be very lucky! Otherwise the songs would be irrelevant even as relevant songs. Rule of thumb: introduce one at a…
