"Hi I’m Vickie. I just started playing keyboard. I’ve played piano for years. I play chords for praise band. I was wondering if anybody else had a difficult time hearing themselves. I use earbuds so I can hear myself. I was wondering if…"
"I have a Korg workstation. There are play-along drum tracks available on c.d. You insert c.d. into the disk drive on your workstation or keyboard, find the track you need, loop the measures, and go...I'm thinking that maybe there are play-along…"
Oh geez---this topic hits home with me...
Please, please, please, speak the truth in love with this lady! This is the only thing that will help her. If she receives it, fine, if not, fine. If she leaves the team and takes all of her…"
"I like the idea of a semi-circle and words projected on a screen. Some people don't remember all the words and for those that do, great. This way everyone is able worship, not just those who remember the words to all the songs. I don't…"
I've found that understanding how chords are set up withing the scales is a great way to get WHY certain chords fit into certain keys.
For instance, in the key of C, going up the scale in thirds you have the following chords: C or…"
"I agree with this! I usually stick to a range of no lower than A below middle C and D2 above middle C. This range seems to work well for everyone. I check out the song, find the highest and lowest notes and adjust it accordingly."
"John 3:30 is one of my FAVORITE verses!
Many years ago I went to a Winds of Worship conference and I heard the following statements from a worship leader, "If you have to be on the stage in order to worship, then get OFF the stage...you…"
"I don't know that song, but I'll look it up on Utube and learn it! The song I just can't stop using is probably Throne of Grace. I've sung this song for years and it never fails to cause worship to happen, people to repent, hands…"
"The Holy Spirit IS the Worship Leader--we are only His obedient vessels! For this reason, we rest in Him. Do not depend on our skills, song selection, whatever. The Holy Spirit makes it happen, not the worship leader! We are obedient servants and…"
"I think that simple is best. Usually when I have other musicians to playing along I use the piano sound, or if it's a blues/rock tune, I'll use the jazz organ. These patches blend best with other instruments. The fancy sounds like strings,…"
"Go on line to Bible.com, type in a phrase from the song you are doing and presto--the scriptures come up! Also look in your Strong's Concordance or whatever concordance you use! I've found that just quoting the scripture and then starting…"
I've played the piano all my life; was trained clasically; the Lord saved me in 1975 and started playing hymns. During missionary service in Mexico I learned chords and playing by ear. Been a Worship Leader for about 25 years now. Married 30 years, 4 kids. My husband and I pastor a small church.
Vineyard worship, jazz, swing, classic rock.

Hi I’m Vickie. I just started playing keyboard. I’ve played piano for years. I play chords for praise band. I was wondering if anybody else had a difficult time hearing themselves. I use earbuds so I can hear myself. I was wondering if anyone else can hear me. My husband is not musical so he can’t hear me. My son and daughter said they don’t really hear me. I can hear it before we begin when nobody else is playing. So I don’t know if it just blends in with the sounds and is good or doesn’t really matter.
