you're right, it does depend on what style you have...but here's my set-up:
acoustic:
compression/sustain pedal, equalizer pedal, holy grail reverb, chorus (i almost never use chorus), and the fishman aura. the aura combined with an eq is absolute…
Acoustic - some sort of EQ/Pre-Amp pedal & Chorus pedal to warm the sound.
Electric - some pedal/amp that can give three sounds - (1) clean, (2) med overdrive, (3) hard overdrive (I use a PODxt Live). Delay, Chorus, Compressor.
Even with OD and distortion pedals, (if you have a good tube amp) keep on dialing that puppy in so it speaks for itself. That's one of the reasons I like the Sparkle Drive so much. The clean boost really works well with the amp. Good call on the AC1…
I play a Epiphone Sheridan II for the most part, and when I'm using that almost always have on the compression side of a Visual Sound Route 66 and the tape echo setting on my Line6 DL4 (with the mixed heavily favoring the dry signal) for a mock-reve…
For acoustic, I run through a LR Baggs Para Acoustic DI (it adds so much great EQ), into a Boss floor tuner, into a volume pedal, straight into my guitar (a 33 year old Aria) which has a passive LR Baggs pickup. I really don't see the need for too m…
I use the POD XT Live Pro and there is typically nothing I cannot reproduce no matter what song in what style or whatever guitar electric or acoustic I can't reproduce.

I just read your post today. Are you looking to relocate and secure a full time worship pastor position and move to North Carolina?
If so, let me know. My pastor has asked me to take the lead on finding a new worship pastor and we are accepting applicants for the position.
The salary will range and based on the applicants experience but it is in the high range for a church our size. We are a growing church with two services and over 700 in attendance each Sunday.
I'm not going to list too many details here, but you can email me questions.
We are looking for a male or female willing to relocated to beautiful Clayton, North Carolina (20 minutes southeast of Raleigh) to be a worship leader who can play acoustic guitar, lead two worship teams, has office skills, know how to use Media Shout, basic computer video editing is a good and organizational skills a must and handle the stress of a growing church.
Of course a good singing voice and guitar playing ability is a given!
