Hi Scott, Thanks for sharing this brand new song with all of us! I REALLY liked the hook line "You did, You do, You will" that was very strong to me. I am glad to hear it was well received at your church Bayside. How awesome that you can share a new…

I'll echo other people's comments in relation to your voice. It's lovely. In terms of the song, the verses seem very busy and could maybe do with trimming down to make them a bit more congregational. As a whole, however, the song is great! Alex

Lara, I think I'm with Bizzy on this one. The chorus ("Praise the Lord" section) is very singable. It's got some funky rhythm that makes it cool, but you sing it enough for a congregation to catch on. I actually really like it. I think I could hear…

Love your voice. Also love the fact that you wrote to scripture. I could catch the chorus pretty easily, though the verse took some effort. Bizzy is right, you may want to simplify the song if you intend for it to be use as a corporate worship song.…

Video Logs and Blogs ~

I thought it might be fun to blog about the devotions I was having through the week on my website:

http://www.laramarriott.com

I also am adding video logs where I talk about the stories behind each song I have written. I also want to show videos of my town, church, and other fun stuff. So if you are interested in those kinds of things, stop by.

Start Where You are Planted

I have heard this phrase so many times through reading songwriting books, seminars and such. It can get really frustrating on the one hand especially when you feel your hands are tied and you can't do what you would like to do. And it can get you thinking creatively about what kind of goals you want to make and where to start.

It's difficult when the negative creeps in and I start thinking about "me." Why are we so human even when we are christians? ug. lol. When I start thinking about how to p… Continue

God's Faithfulness ~

God has been so faithful. I wish I had the time to share every little detail of how his hand print has been on so many things over the past few months. We have found a house in Pleasanton and are hopefully going to move in tomorrow. The church we are at has welcomed us with open arms. There will be an adjustment like there always is, but we know we are suppose to be serving here.

I know we all have gone through times when we have questioned God's faithfulness to come through. And if you are fin… Continue

* Transition Time *

Today is the day that my husband is getting up in front of our congregation to tell them where God is commissioning us to go to next. I was hoping that I would be able to be with him to support him, but my beautiful little girl was up all night with a bad cold and has to stay home.

It has been very difficult to keep this news to ourselves for so long. Now that I know it's alright to talk about I am excited to finally be able to share from my heart what God has been doing.

Have you ever receive… Continue

Snowed In on SUNDAY!!!

What is happening here? The Sunday before Christmas there is 6 inches of snow on the ground and a sheet of ice. I have been going to church my whole life and I can't remember a cancelled Sunday, especially Christmas Sunday. Right now we have cancelled the first service and are thinking about canceling the second. I just can't believe it.

Yes, we had our concert on 9/18. I'm sorry you missed it, I'm sure you would have enjoyed meeting Clif, our worship leader.

We will not be doing any more events until December, over here in the Peninsula. However, if you are able, Clif and I will be participating in a musical in Redwood City. Clif is the choir director, and I'm rehearsing the choir and singing in the performance. The performances are 10/9-11 and 10/15-19. See http://lostandfoundmusical.com for details if you're interested.

I like the recording on your home page - sounds great!

Honestly, it's really, really disturbing. I don't know of anyone here close, this goes to explain why, i'd to rely on ur competence. Well, i hadn't had my voice on single a tape oe recording, except on a group performance. And that has been in years past. Well, i appreciate all ur efforts but if there's anything or useful hints & suggestions u could still profer, i will appreciate very, very much.

Please, utmost very best to the family.

Regards.

Hi Lara,

I must confess, i appreciate your quick response on this matter. Indeed, you gave it the true attention, it actually derserved. Thank you.

Sorry, what do you mean by contra tenor? Does it mean or represents deep or high tenor? I am 45 years of age. I have hitherto now, not given any special attention to my voice. I have also not known any special voice care. This has compelled me to ask all these questions. Please, what kind of music lesson do you mean? Is it a kind of rehearsal or practise,as we usually call it? Yes, i've been involved in several group performances in church, over the years. Quite unfortunately, none is on record.

Hi Lara,
Sorry, did i hear you say, you teach Water Aerobics and voice lessons? Really, i started as a choir boy from singing soprano, to alto, to tenor now. My greatest worry, constrain & concern is, my voice is depleting. I'm losing the beauty of my voice. I'd always wished, i could get back my original voice again. I need them now, to worship & praise God.

What do you advice. I'm so, so worried. You've got to do something to help me out fast. Thank you.

Hi lara,
How are you? we are fine, was talking to my pastor last night and he has given me a new cheaper website builder called godaddy.com and it only costs £2 a month, that £60 up front for 3 years with £9.50 for a domain name. There is so much more in it than bandzoogle and we have made the decision to close it down as we feel this is really the one for us.
Will let you know by email the new one so you can join the mailing list ok.
We feel that bandzoogle is too expensive and is very limited.
Hope you are well and thanks for you r help and encouragement.
Blessings
