Transposing - Font Change

Started this discussion. Last reply by Stevo Feb 20. 4 Replies

My favorite resource for worship music is Rockin' With The Cross. It's nice having the built in transposer. But I invariably find I need to change the font to read it on a music stand. The sight says…Continue

Timing

Started this discussion. Last reply by Stevo Dec 22, 2011. 26 Replies

I am trying to get more serious about timing in my worship leading. I know many finger picking styles and am working on which work with which time signatures (3/4, 4/4, 6/8,...etc). This is easy…Continue

"I didn't realise there was such a thing, and like you Jorn, do all the transposing by myself.  By the time I have fiddled about with other peoples chords and lyrics set ups, I may as well have done the whole thing from scratch."

"Songsheet generator is my go-to program. I use it a lot - it transposes and has a lot of font flexibility. There a few quirks about it, but I've built my workflow around it and like it just fine. It's freeware, but the author has always…"

Transposing - Font Change

My favorite resource for worship music is Rockin' With The Cross. It's nice having the built in transposer. But I invariably find I need to change the font to read it on a music stand. The sight says that New Courier is the compatible font but it doesn't seem the case with me. I asked them and they also suggested Verdana but the same result. I end up taking quite a bit of time lining up the chords on the words.  I wish there was a program which could automatically highlight every other line in…See More

"Hi, guys. My guitar is a Guild in fancy maple except for the soundboard. It's the heaviest guitar I've owned by far but has a great sound. I bought it used at a guitar center maybe fourteen years ago, so do not know how old it is. A…"

We're all in this group because we love God

Formerly the 12 string guitar group that failed miserably because no-one joined and I felt like I'd gone to the party and I was the only one there... so I thought I'd open it up to a wider membership.

Stevo replied to Kent Dickerson's discussion 'Timing'
"First, what's making you think the rhythm issue is you? I've been in your shoes. Djembe or cajon would help, but without them, trying to mesh together three guitars and a piano is nearly impossible - clearly the problem isn't you.…"

Wulf Forrester-Barker replied to Kent Dickerson's discussion 'Timing'
"In jazz settings the bassist often ends up as "the timekeeper"; in more rock and pop orientated settings, that responsibility does tend to shift to the drummer. However, the truth is that the best place for the beat to live is in the space…"

Wulf Forrester-Barker replied to Kent Dickerson's discussion 'Timing'
"There's one called "Sing of the Lord's Goodness" by Ernest Sands that is in 5/4 and bears a passing resemblance to "Take Five" (mind you, a lot of songs in 5/4 do). Less worshipful but Jethro Tull did "We Five…"
