Hi-- my name is Julie Tofilon, and I'm still new to this group. I'm wondering what the best and safest way is to get songs I've written to Christian artists who can record them and get them "out…Continue
"We'll be announcing soon a new HUGE item that has been added to the prize package for this year's songwriting contest... and speaking of getting songs out there... you need an open door. We have opened up a door with Integrity Music, the…"
"Just doing a follow-up...
The songs you are wanting to minister to people, how is it going? Anyone ministered to?
Safest way? Copyright your songs and work together with others. Nobody is an island.
I'm hoping you're not frustrated and…"
"Julie, there are so many variables. The people you are trying to reach, what do they listen to.
Can you get their attention and keep it? Do you have any recording equipment? Do you have a solid musical background and good ears?
I would seek…"
"Hey Charles! You're using one of my songs?!?!? Where are my royalties! Where is my name in lights!
I hope you know that I'm joking in the above line, but I am surprised and also glad to hear that you are using one of my…"
"Well, if you're hoping to get your songs to the "big name" worship artists like those you hear on the radio, then you're into a whole other realm of paying hundreds of dollars to have a "professional demo" recording…"
The price of good recording equipment is dropping. A decent mic, a secondhand USB interface and Audacity(free software) would give you more recording ability than the Beatles had! Youtube videos can teach you how to use…"
You've had some great responses and it's been lovely hearing about you too. The songs posted on here are recorded in a variation of ways. Some are professionally done, some not, it really doesn't matter, but I sincerely…"
I'm a new member of WTR and someone suggested I search out members in our area. Do you still live in/near Baltimore? We do (over 2 years now). I see a lot of posts here about your granddaughter. Hope she's…"
My name is Julie Tofilon. You can check out my profile here. I just joined WTR a few months ago. Someone suggested I find other members in our area, so I did a search and saw your profile. It looks like we have the…"
"Julie, you should check out the members page here as you can search for a city name... and potentially find members near you that you could contact. Maybe you can connect with some people and help each other as musicians, playing, recording, etc.…"
Thanks for your reply and good input. Like you, I wish we had resources to make better recordings. That's what's kept me from sharing online (ashamed of just doing it on our iPhone-- although I feel blessed to even…"
Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I'd love to do more in my own church, but getting the opportunity is difficult since I'm not the main worship leader and feel shy about "pushing" my songs. We have sung and…"
Songwriting; instrument-playing-- piano, guitar, mandolin, some traditional instruments of other countries; folk drums
I'm a middle-aged mom with a heart for worship who's lived and served overseas for many years, now in the U.S. I've trained worship leaders overseas and helped to develop indigenous worship in those countries, as well as teaching Bible and encouraging people with truth. My most-loved trainee is my older son, 27, who serves as a worship leader/creative arts director at a local church :) I believe worship should have substance-- in music, in lyrics, and in godly living!
Face it, Bluegrass Gospel is going to keep everyone lively in heaven! :) I also like folk (any country's), jazz, classical, and poetic rap music as well. Soft rock and pop are ok. Anything but heavy metal :)
