Jon Wolske replied to Aaron Warren's discussion 'Im amazed and now need some advice.' in the group Electric Guitarists
"Congrats! Isn't it cool how God works wonders!    As for the comment about not being able to strum it like an acoustic.. would that poster care to elaborate? I've got both a Les Paul and a Tele and I can strum them (and my…"

Jon Wolske replied to Diana Jurss's discussion 'Seinfeld sound' in the group Bass Guitarists
"Seinfeld had a keyboard on a slap bass setting. it is really quite horrible.  Slap and Pop is the technique, and when done well, it can be cool and funky. I'm sure there are plenty of Youtubes for it. One of the hardest aspects of SAP is…"

Jon Wolske replied to Cory Zipperle's discussion 'Is the Bible Really Without Error?'
"I think that what is coming out is simply a difference in interpretations. I have just finished a class on interpreting the Bible, and it stated that the reader will have to take the Historical situation, the definition of the words and the context…"

Jon Wolske replied to Sue's discussion 'Health & Worship Leading'
"Yep, used to do that every weekend. I was playing Fri and Sat with my classic rock band (4 - 45 minute sets and then load-out) and doing a church plant type of situation where everything was loaded in (stage, lights, backdrop, Sound, Screens, etc)…"

Jon Wolske replied to Tony Ray James's discussion 'Questions that define your sound.' in the group Bass Guitarists
"1. Active - Even have a preamp from an active bass that I had my tech put into a box so I can run my passives through it. 2. Strings: Elixirs. On my Jazz Bass, the Fender Super Bass 7250's are it! 3. How many strings? 5 on my main basses,…"

Jon Wolske replied to Ben Aguilar's discussion 'Aurora Strings?'
"Never tried them, but they look interesting. I started using Elixirs when people still thought they'd never take off.. I like coated strings (on all but my Acoustasonic Tele, which needs a specific set that is not available in coated strings,…"

Jon Wolske replied to Sue's discussion 'Health & Worship Leading'
"No doubt. You change the strings on your guitar, you bias the tubes in your amp when you replace them, you wrap the microphone cables nicely so they don't fail.. why wouldn't you keep your biological instrument in top shape?  Why is…"

Jon Wolske replied to JORN's discussion 'Is this warped?'
"Wow. Church volunteers or not, if a guitar or bass player can't tune their instrument, they are not ready to be playing in front of people. period.  Seriously, if it's THAT bad, then more than a gentle nudge needs to be given. The…"

Jon Wolske replied to Wayne Pau's discussion 'If I had a....(for my worship team)'
"I'd have to go with a killer electronic drumset and a really nice keyboard. Right now we have a grand piano ( I know,it's tough.... But I really would like to have some options like a B3 sound, string pads, etc... instead of all piano all…"

Jon Wolske replied to Carl's discussion 'In-ear monitors'
"A couple of extra mics facing the congregation. That stopped me from having to take the buds out, ever. Once we started running ambient mics and could hear the congregation singing back to us, I never felt the need to pull them out.    I…"

Jon Wolske replied to Carl's discussion 'In-ear monitors'
"IEM's are most certainly touted as a hearing saver! By having the sound directed into the ear canal and a proper fit blocking out all other sound, IEM's are designed to give you what you need at a reasonable volume. This is why a careful…"

Jon Wolske replied to Carl's discussion 'In-ear monitors'
"Depending on needs, the HearBack system is actually a pretty good deal, too. It's a wired in ear solution that gives performers a mix of up to '8' things. It is not totally ideal for 8, since two things will be sharing a stereo…"

Jon Wolske replied to Justin Kirkendall's discussion 'Father's Day....songs?'
"Here is my version. The mix is not ideal, I know now that I really need to get some reverb/something on my guitar.. The vocals start kind of low for me, then go into my range for the chorus.    I'm not about to say that this…"

Jon Wolske replied to Carl's discussion 'In-ear monitors'
"I have used wedges in many situations (my praise team uses wedges) and In-Ears in many others.. Each has its benefit.   It would not be wise to put our 4 singers on In-ears, since they all tend to stand next to each other, and are not…"

Jon Wolske replied to Justin Kirkendall's discussion 'Father's Day....songs?'
"Seems to have gone well! I made sre to keep the message in mind and really focus on giving the song the dynamics and feeling it deserved. I'm going to do some digging an see if our video team caught it.."

Cool John! You sound busy :) It's a great place to meet up with so many different people and share in worship in a huge variety of ways.

I work in the audio industry too, but on the admin/management side - I'm not at all technical. Haha!

You might like to join the Worship Twitterers group too, so you can follow all of us worshipping twitterers as we journey through the rest of life (some of us...I mean me...are a bit more twitprolific than others) Bless you!
