Where Worship Begins

I urge all worship leaders, musicians, singers, and congregants to read this article. It is a wonderful complement to the backstory of Matt Redman's THE HEART OF WORSHIP (http://www.crosswalk.com/1253122/). These two sources are key to deeping your church's worship. "Glad you like the pics. The arid, rocky ones are taken near Ayers Rock (Uluru) in central Australia. Quite a few of the more lush photos were actually taken in Ireland, where my wife is from."

"Hi David. Thanks for the welcome. I like the pictures of "Down Under". I live in Southern Utah (St. George) and the scenery is similar here, especially in Zion National Park. What area of Australia were those pictures taken?"

Profile Information

Home Church:

Musical Gift(s):
Electric Guitar, Nylon String Guitar, Bass Guitar, harmony voice
About Me:
I played in rock and roll bands in high school and jammed some in college. Laid down the guitar for almost forty years. Ten years after I came to the Lord, I was asked to help start a praise and worship team in a church plant. It took some spiritual warfare to make my fingers play gospel, but after a breakthrough, it's been an incredibly fulfilling experience that brings me that much closer to my Father.
Favourite Music:
I have very eclectic taste, although my favorite is gospel rock I also enjoy gospel Latin, like Two for One and Salvador. An east coaster who is now living in the west, I am enjoying hearing native American flute (2 time Grammy winner Mary Youngblood). I also enjoy the sounds of The Paul Winter Consort's acoustic blend of African Rhythms and American Jazz.

Since God invented music, I cannot see any harm in using any sound to praise him. I have even heard Christian rap that I like. "Non-Christian" instrumentalists have influenced me to develop a "new song" to the Lord, although I am very selective about listening to secular lyrics.
Favourite Books / Authors
Jack Hayford, Wayne Cadero, Bruce Wilkinson.

Jan Karon (Mitford Series) Michael Crichton, Nelson DeMille
Favourite Bible Verses / Passages:
Psalm 93, Hebrews 13:3 & 8, Luke 1:41
