"In the back there is a CD with audio clips of everything written (musically) in the book.  I ripped the CD to my iPod and play along with it.  He also covers bass guitar care and feeding.  It will get you up to speed pretty quickly."

After 35 years of playing tenor sax (worship, jazz, legit) and a bunch of other woodwinds, my Warwick Vette Standard 5 and I are going through musical midlife crisis together. Been playing 2 years now, and it's opening up a whole new world of music and passion for song.
