When Worship Mentions Us

You Mean More To Me Than Any Earthly ThingA long time ago I realized there can be a disconnect between the words we sing in praise and how we live. I’ve heard preachers actually teach that we should check ourselves in worship and not utter words that profess something about our faith, our behavior or how we’ve been living unless those words are true. There is not short answer or explanation but we need to keep a few things in mind.1.    Christians are still sinners saved by grace2.    None of us…See More

Testimony Of Unpreparedness

This has happened to me more than once, and I'd gather for those of us in smaller congregations where we have ALL the music ministry ourselves, I'm not alone. My father in law is visiting from England which adds a lot of work to our normal routine, but about a week ago he went into the hospital via ambulance with pneumonia. That's not an excuse but I never reached out to our guest pastor to see what the message was for last Sunday. Even as I was preparing the 'Song of Meditation' that I selected…See More

A Solitary Place

Posted on November 18, 2010 at 10:12pm 0 Comments

Finding a solitary place to commune with God is more than a privilege, it is a necessary component of the Christian daily walk. Neglecting to find those precious moments alone in peaceful isolation with God can interfere with the disciples’ vision and mission.

Precious Moments In Time...

As I stood on my deck this crisp November… Continue

Lost In The Crowd?

Most believers and church attendees are quick to assert that Jesus is the center of their lives especially during worship.

Nobody can command their focus and attention 100% of the time but we all need to take an honest assessment of what we’re distracted by because the underlying reasons result in dismemberment, separation of one part of the body from… Continue

We're very fortunate to have 4 different worship leaders in our church and amazingly enough, the youth team's guitar player loves to play with me when I am leading, so we get to rock out lol. For me, I always hear a definite rock guitar - comes from raising 3 sons who listened to Steve Vai, Van Halen, Malmsteen etc etc. One of them has now come to the Lord and he's a drummer, so I just keep praying for the guitarist of the 3..... but until then I'm blessed with the churches youth team. Nice to meet you :) and one day I'll actually get some songs recorded with more than just me & mr GarageBand lol

Hi David, just thought I'd drop you a note to say that I really liked All of Me :) As a fellow piano player, I so appreciate clear distinct piano --- mine always seems to sound 'ok' and never is a distinct new sound lol. That probably doesn't make much sense. I've always had to get as much sound as possible out of one instrument, so I end up playing 'all the parts' automatically -- whereas I so love the simple, profound piano lines.....
Anyways, just wanted to say, great job!!
