Put me in coach

Posted on May 25, 2009 at 4:50pm 0 Comments

You ever find yourself asking God to put me in coach. For the past couple of months it feels like that's what I've been doing. You see it gets a little lonely up on the shelf watch the game go oninfront of you. Lately how ever I've noticed God has not parked onshelf but He instead has me in His workshop and is rebuilding and retuning me for the next leg in life's race. One of the things God is doing is letting look into past lessons to see how I apply them

to present day problem and trials.… Continue

Did you ever find youself in a spot where you know your doing what God wants you do.

Some people shake your hand and tell you your doing a good job; Meanwhile the guy bhind

them wants you on the next bus out of town. I am there now I did not start to crame my message

down everyones throat nor did I buy a bus ticket out of town . I droped back and ponted so to speak

I ask God for courage to improve my message and technique. So that the one who where getting… Continue

Sometimes God's will has some turns that catch us off guard

In my thirtynie running around this little land I call home I have learned a very important lesson.

God will never pass up a chance to show you you can do alot more then you think you can aswell

as showing you people are listening alot more then you think the are at the time. Not long ago I ask to sing

an Irish wake to honor a friend of mine that had passed on to his rewards. I shared Christ with this man many

times not really sure if heard me or not. until one day his wife… Continue

Psalm 113 (New International Version)

Psalm 113
1 Praise the LORD. [a]
Praise, O servants of the LORD,
praise the name of the LORD.

2 Let the name of the LORD be praised,
both now and forevermore.

3 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets,
the name of the LORD is to be praised.

4 The LORD is exalted over all the nations,
his glory above the heavens.

5 Who is like the LORD our God,
the One who sits enthroned on high,

6 who stoops down to look
on the heavens and the earth?

7 He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap;

8 he seats them with princes,
with the princes of their people.

9 He settles the barren woman in her home
as a happy mother of children.
Praise the LORD.

Glad to help Brian! Remember you never have to apologize for living a life all-out for God, chasing after His promises and following the dreams he has planted in your heart.

Unfortunately Brian, I have yet to upload any song files to WTR, so I won't be any help with that.
As for the lyric we were discussing, I understand now that you explained it ... you could change it to something like: 1) ignoring the True and Faithful Guide, 2) thinking the road was safe and wide, 3) casting all Providence aside, or 4) daring to live without the Guide ... you could come up with even more ideas using a rhyming dictionary (free online) since there are a lot of words that rhyme with pride. (that's what I did!)
God bless your song writing, Brian!

Brian, yeah, I get the message of the lyrics (though the "ride" line still throws me).
Something my husband (pastor) said this Sunday relates to the topic - when people say "how could a loving God send people to hell?" it would be appropriate to ask "how could a loving God force someone to go to heaven against their will?" If we refuse to accept the invitation Christ offers ... we're essentially choosing the default destination.
I still think a bridge would serve the song well, but then again, I haven't heard it yet! :)
