Alex Morris replied to Heather Cox's discussion 'NEED SONG SUGGESTIONS ABOUT (THE WORD OF GOD BEING OUR MANUAL FOR LIFE)'
"Here is a link to a song I wrote three years ago based on 2 Tim 3:16-17:   https://soundcloud.com/theoldatrain/god-you-breathed   If you're interested in using it I can send you some chord and voice sheets by email if you send me a PM."

Alex Morris replied to Michael Letus's discussion 'Acoustic/electric guitar suggestions'
"I have a jumbo Tak with an onboard tuner that I enjoy thoroughly. As I recall it was somewhere in the $500-$600 range. It has a nice bright high end, a strong low end, and a pretty balanced mid-range - good for unplugged settings, although if you…"

Alex Morris replied to Stevo's discussion 'Worship and Theology? A barrier?'
"I appreciate that. If you're at all interested in hearing it, here's a link to a little classical fingerstyle demo: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=828069&songID=6478151 Also, one thing about this song that…"

Alex Morris replied to Stevo's discussion 'Worship and Theology? A barrier?'
"Oh, the pastor didn't ask us to write a worship album for his sermon series. That was my idea after the fact.  The pastor just asked if we had any songs on hand that would fit thematically with his sermons, and for pretty much all the…"

Alex Morris replied to Stevo's discussion 'Worship and Theology? A barrier?'
"If it won't take the thread too far off course, here's a test-case that hits several of those questions. Several years ago I was serving in a (Presbyterian) church in which the pastor decided to preach through the Ten Commandments. …"

Alex Morris replied to Phil Williams's discussion ''Sloppy wet kiss', or 'Unforeseen kiss'? 'You give and take away' or 'You give and bless the day'?'
"It is not illegal to sing part of a song rather than the entire song. I do that a lot with songs that have bridges that (in my opinion) do not relate well to the rest of the song."

Alex Morris replied to Phil Williams's discussion ''Sloppy wet kiss', or 'Unforeseen kiss'? 'You give and take away' or 'You give and bless the day'?'
"I don't know if you can say that Job never spoke wrongly of God in the entire book (otherwise, why would God have had to rebuke Job from the whirlwind)? But at the beginning of the book the author makes it pretty clear that Job…"

Alex Morris replied to Phil Williams's discussion ''Sloppy wet kiss', or 'Unforeseen kiss'? 'You give and take away' or 'You give and bless the day'?'
"Steve, Was every single thing that Job said before the whirlwind speech an example of false theology that he ultimately repented of? I don't think so. The complicated-ness of life does not in any way diminish God's ultimate…"

Alex Morris commented on Travis L. Boyd's blog post 'Confusion about Worship Music'
"Everything you wrote is excellent, but I don't believe you answered the poster's question. The poster asked for Scriptures that addressed the issue of using music in worship (as opposed to singing without music). One possible response…"

Alex Morris commented on Marsha Conley's blog post 'Worship music keys'
"What I was always taught (and generally agree with) is that songs should not hit notes higher than D or lower than A (this happens to be the exact melodic range of "In Christ Alone" in the key of D). It's not a big deal if songs every…"

Alex Morris replied to Toni's discussion 'Jesus would have died for you if you were the only person alive'
"The big sticking point of the song "Above All" (which seems to be the big white worship elephant in the room that no one has specifically mentioned yet) is the last few lines, and the last one in particular:   "Crucified, laid…"

Thanks!
If you find it useful, then I'll consider it a good use of my time. It's the first time I've tried "cutting and splicing" a video like that. My old PC and cheap webcam don't produce great quality, but I knew what I needed to get done - to the glory of God.
Send me a link when you get your stuff packaged....
