Sue, I found a really great video by Flannel called Fellowship.  Check out this link http://store.flannel.org/films/basic/fellowship.html

I think it could be helpful to pull the whole team together to view this video and talk about the principles shared in the context of your music ministry.

Hello.  I'm in a couple of worship teams and have been a worship leader myself for over twenty years.  I'm having problems understanding something.  The worship leader in the church worship team I belong too only responds to questions regarding our worship team if she responds to me.

You see, the other worship teams I'm in and have been in also have relationship with one another outside the team.  The worship leader for our church only responds to me when it's my week to be on the team and only about music.  She will not reply to things like "I heard you have been ill.  How are you?".  Or "do you have enough musicians this week?"  She also never asks how I am also.  For some reason this is frustrating me.

Please, please pray for our church!! Our praise team and the Pastor and his wife are at odds. Our church is seeing growth and obviously Satan does not like it, he is doing all he can. Please pray that we are able to remain strong and "hold the line" of defense against the enemy. God Bless

And that's it. All we can do is worship. That's all I ever want to do every day of my life. What a wonderful encouraging word. Thanks so much for sharing!!

Being Onipa`a(Steadfast)!
I've been the Worship Leader for about 14-15 years now. Started out when our worship leader/guitarist, bass player and drummer left. We had no one to lead so my brother-in-law stepped up to lead. He learned to play guitar and I picked up the bass.

I began leading a few years later after he left. I was in my mid-20's and the team that was left were a lot older. I think they were expecting me to leave to. They saw that I was steadfast and I wasn't going anywhere.

Our team began to grow to a point where we had two whole teams. After hearing a message by Jared Ming, I was challenged to set some guidelines & standards in place. He looked at us and said, "If there is sin going on in your team that are aware of and are doing anything about... YOU will be held accountable before God. So I prayed & studied other's guidelines and then put together our own. A lot of people saw nothing wrong with what they were doing even though the standards were from the Word of God. Our team dropped from 18 down to 5. Sometime it would be just me leading/playing bass and another vocalist/ukulele player. Being steadfast...God blessed...the team grew stronger and our worship went deeper!

Well, 6 years ago, my father ended up in the hospital with an infection. Three weeks later on an early Sunday morning, we were called to the hospital. He passed into Glory will we sang worship around his bed. About an hour later, my Mom turns to me and tells me we need to get to church to worship and be there for the church. I didn't say earlier, but my Dad was the Senior Pastor for 30 years here at this church. We went to church and just worshipped for about 3-4 hours. Still steadfast... God continued to bless... and the church grew!

2 months ago on a Thursday, my Mom had a heart attack, went into a coma and was put on full life support. That Saturday, our team was scheduled to sing at a multi-church worship gathering. Didn't think I could do it, but kept hearing my Mom's words saying, "You need to go and worship!". It was one of the most comforting times in worship that I ever had! As I sang, I could actually feel the prayers of those gathered and the peace of God so strong!

The next Thursday, we had to take Mom off life support and she passed into Glory while we worshiped around her bed. We sang along with David Baroni's song, "He Is Strong".
Both Mom & Dad's funeral services were really just worship services.

I know this has been a little long, but I say all of this to hopefully be an encouragement to someone to be Onipa`a (Steadfast) in your worship to the Father. No matter what you go through.
HE IS WORTHY and HE IS FAITHFUL.

Aloha, Kamuela

WOW!!! These post are what I needed to hear. This is something that I am going through at this very moment. It is encouraging and also I have taken a step back to evaluate what may have happened to be at the level that I am at today. Saints, I ask that you continue to pray for me in this trying stage of my life that my faith will not fail me now!! God Bless!

I continue to stand up for Jesus Christ..because He continued to set His face towards Jerusalem and would not be deflected from doing His Father's will.
I continue to stand for Jesus Christ..because He continued to give the good testimony before Pilate and the low priest of the day.
I continue to stand up for Jesus Christ because He continued to hang on a roman cross until He cried "It Is Finished".
I continue to stand for Jesus Christ because He continues to intercede for such as me at the Right Hand of God the Father!
..and there are many more things that could be listed that he continued to do and continues to do but the sum of them could not be contained in all the computers of the world.

Hey everyone, let me just start by saying that I thank God for His forgiveness, His grace and His mercy. Everyday I see how worthless I am without Him. Without Him, I couldn't lead anyone anyhwere. So how do I continue to stand up for God in the assignment He has called me to? Devotion is my thing. I am devoted to God and determined to live fully for Him. Yes I stumble and sin, and I feel like a worthless worm, but 1 John 1:9 says He is faithful and just to forgive me. With that in mind, I pick myself up and aim to take it moment by moment and live for Him.

As it pertains to my worship team, I have to pray hard as even though I am the leader, it's a goal of mine to make sure they are at their best. I've gone through 3-4 different transitions with team members of the past year and I finally got a stable team. I've dealt with many, many different sins on the team where I've had to sit some people down, but I had to pray hard about what to do. I don't like the idea of sitting people down but of course if they aren't producing the fruit that pleases God then they have to sit down . And I am not by any means exempt from this. If I am not producing good fruit then I have to sit down from ministering for a season.

I have to also make sure I'm living my life as an example to them and others. As a worship leader I don't want to give someone mixed thoughts about the lifestyle of worship unto God. I want my actions to be clear and directly reflecting a strong walk with God. With all I deal with pertaining to my team and other leadership, I have to trust God and have faith that He, in all His sovereignty, will take great care of me as He has ordered my steps.

ok, I'm done for now. I could go all day.......

I thank God for forgiven because it has taken me for being rejected to bing redeemed for my rejectors. I was and I still am until later on this week, I am a worship leader who have gone through great testing to lead a group who didn't want me to lead them. I have had every responsibility taken away from me except leading the people in worship. The reason why I still have that assignment is the spirit of God found within me causes people to engage in worship. I have gone from almost $2000. a month to less than $800. a month. I have come to the point that I have tried everything within my natural ability and I have been obedience to God, now it time to follow Gods plan and my journey with God. I am encourage that nothing can separate me from the love of God.
