Comment by David D Waggoner on September 10, 2012 at 10:38am Hey Meri - I have been working on a a bowing style (possibly 'inventing" may be more accurate) on my bass and treble Viola da Gambas that mimics the minor key "boom-chucka" strum style on guitar. If I get around to recording again you may have the chance to hear it.
Marty - actually I use Super Sensitive Sensicore strings. They are a synthetic (nylon) core and sound warm like gut strings but are not as affected by humidity and temperature. Steel strings will give an overly bright sound, which is ok if you are doing bluegrass or western swing but probably not good for most worship music.
Suggestions for beginner: Scales, scales and more scales.
