Hey Everyone.
I saw this group to share songs and thought it would great to have some feedback on this particular one. It's pretty much from Proverbs 3 : 3 - 6. It's been working really well at Church thus far...

Thanks guys!

LEAD ME ON

VERSE
Would love and faithfulness never leave me
Your commands reside in my heart
All my days I seek to find Your wisdom
May Your ways Lord never depart

PRE CHORUS
But when my doubts and fears are there
May I know Lord none can compare, may I know Lord none can compare

CHORUS
I Will trust in You Lord with all my heart
and lean not on my own understanding
In all of my ways Lord I’ll acknowledge You Jesus
only You will lead me on

BRIDGE
I will trust in You Lord

Ben this was beautiful. I really enjoyed listening to it. Was that you singing? Really nice. I loved how the chorus was basically scripture. You did an awesome job making it sound contemporary. There is nothing like singing pure scripture in songs. If I was to be a stickler (even though I am still learning myself) I would challenge you on the last line in the chorus. "Only you will lead me on" I get what you are saying, but lead you on where? I was wanting a resolution to that thought. It is kind of a cliche line to me.

All that to say I could definitely here this on an album or the radio. It was wonderful to listen to and I was able to worship with it. Thank you for sharing.

This is an awesome song Ben. The guitar is sooo good, and I really like the melody, particularly in the chorus. At first listen, without having read Proverbs 3 it sounded like the lyrics may have been scripturally incorrect, like you were asking God not to leave you. After reading the scripture I can now see where you are coming from, but wonder if those singing would draw the same conclusion that I did at first.
I also agree that the line "In all of my ways Lord I'll acknowledge You Jesus" in the chorus seems rushed and may be difficult to sing.

Other than those small criticisms I think it is a great song.
I really like the acoustic feel on this song...everything sounds great!
I can picture it in my head and it is beautiful. Keep up the good work.
Good song I like the word picture that you paint God will never leave us or forsake us. God is always there we humans
are the ones that revolve in and out. Your prechorus and chorus make a strrong point that there is no one like the Lord
He is the only one that we or any one else can depend on to get through this crazy thing called life. Some might say it's a little short but sometimes God puts a mightyforce in a small box. I play for my church too and seen people by songs that seemed liked musical novals and I've seen people react to and saved little bullet songs that seem to end before they start.
you never know when or how the spirit might hit a person. Just trust God that when think a song is finished that you have something for Him to work with. After all us singers are just the messengers for God we can point people to God but only God can save them. keep going your doing good
