Okay, I'm gonna give you and your hubby props here! After listening to "It comes from You" I expected something really similar sounding/feeling for all your stuff. But instead you pulled it way back (okay, I'm sounding like one of the judges from American Idol) and surprised me with a ballad. And a really good one at that. I loved the piano playing (do you live in Minnesota, I'm looking for a piano teacher) it was beautiful and haunting (but not creepy).

And I was doubly surprised when you kicked it up with drums, etc at the 2nd verse - It came at me from nowhere! I thought it sounded so good as it was. Usually, worship leaders will take a mid-tempo song and play one verse all airy and worshipful and it feels great for a few lines, but you know they're gonna amp it up any second now before everyone gets bored with it. On "Find It," I could have gone on the whole song as it started (with a little building-up, sure). This is a compliment, though, because I loved the amped-up second half, especially when you went high into the chorus! Cool!! In fact, the "ascension" of the song reminded me of Hillsongs' latest album - most of their songs start as ballads and get rocking by the end.

Watch your pitch (a bit sharp) on the end choruses (again, the home-studio limitations and multi-tasking probably contributed).

I'm a fan. I tend to think many of the home-grown songs on WTR (and even in the Christian marketplace) sound alike. In fact, I think that about my own songs! But you have strong lyrics, good vocals (both of you), a good sense for arrangement, and modern-melodies (no 80s feel here).

Kudos. Keep rocking for Jesus! I'll be looking for your songs! (I'll take chords if you're sharing) ...
Tricia, thanks again for the awesome comments! We actually live in Texas but if I hear of anybody in the Minnesota area who teaches piano I'll let you know! :) With the pitch issues...haha...if you saw the way we recorded vocals you would laugh your head off...I should take a picture of the head phones and put them on here cause you guys would get a kick out it...They actually had only one ear by the time we got to this song and the other ear had broken off during one of our late night sessions and was hanging down by the electrical wires! (got shocked a few times!! ouch!! ) haha Glad you enjoyed it though...and I'll send ya chords!
Very nice. I like the transition into the second verse also. Definitely a song with potential.
I really like the beginning with the vocals and the piano but when you broke out the vocals didn't hold up as well but I think it sounds pretty darn good for a home studio! ! agree with Trica that it was a good surprise to break out on the 2nd verse but to use a Randy Jackson phrase, it was pitchy. I would love to see the lyrics. You should always include them when you post a song for feedback.

Really, really. really nice! I like this song a lot - I too would love to see the lyrics and chords. Seems like a well crafted song - puts across the message simply, and in a really heartfelt way.
I also loved that surprise with the kicking drum mix in the second verse - really built it well. Aside from the pitch issues in the recording, which have been mentioned already, and explained as being due to the "shocking" headphones you had - it is a very enjoyable song to listen to. Nice work.
I love it. It goes from a very warm to something that makes you feel the passion. All of the comments are right on, so I won't repeat the same thing. This song has 'it'. Great job. I'm going to go stalk the rest of your songs now.
Wow..I love it! My peace, my joy..I find it in you..great lines!
