Hello all,
been inactive here for a while, been doing a fair bit of writing, but realised I need to get some stuff critiqued to develop my recent songs.
Anyway, this is a first draft so it's very rough-and ready. I prefer to get feedback before I start rewriting so I don't get too attached and not want to change anything! A such this is just lyrics, no audio yet. This is a call-to-worship song, nice and lively, in 4/4 time and in Eb.
Any feedback will be very much appreciated!
thanks
Simon
Verse 1
From the corners of the earth
From every race and every nation he is calling us
And all who are his people
Bring your brothers and your sisters he is calling you
To the city of God, to the throne of the King
Gathered with the angels, with one voice we sing:
Chorus
Holy is the Lord! The Lord of Zion reigns!
Holy is the Lord! He is glorious and strong
You have called us, and so we’re gathered here
A united congregation singing,
Holy is the Lord!
Verse 2
Have we wandered from the way,
like lost sheep without a shepherd?
He is calling us.
Have we disobeyed and run,
From his arms and his ways of grace?
He is calling us.
To the city of God, and the throne of the King,
Gathered with the angels, in one voice we sing:
Verse 3
Reunited with Him now,
brought together by his strong hand,
He is glorious.
We forget our selfish wants,
Our human dignity dismissed,
He is glorious.
To the city of God, and the throne of the King,
Gathered with the angels, in one voice we sing:
