Forever and a Day

Today I'm the dew on the edge of a leaf
Later I'm the rain dancin' under your feet
and when the waves wash your castle away...
I'll be your tears, Forever and a Day

This morning I'm the breeze in your summer blonde hair
This evening I'm the lavender scent in the air
and when the wind blows your petals away...
I'll be your breath, Forever and a Day

Tonight I'm the glow from the lantern fly
Tomorrow I'm the dawn and the blink of an eye
and when the night steals your sunset away...
I'll be your light, Forever and a Day

and when the sun melts your snowflake away..
I'll be your Hope, Forever and a Day
I'll be your Hope, Forever and a Day

I wrote this last month. This will not be the final cut, as I was hoping to get some input and other interpretations of the lyrics before recording a final version.

Thanks,

Hi Jack,

thanks for posting your song. i love the lyrics and the melody as well. i think that there is a timing issue of where you are breaking w/lyrics that needs some attention. and i hear some kind of bridge/tag/chorus that takes this song further. i can almost hear it. so work with it because I think the Holy Spirit will give you more to this song. and it will take this song to another level. i wish you the very best. i also write songs and am learning to let them evolve and go to a new level. it is exciting. thanks for sharing this song. Tricia
Thanks for listening and taking the time to share your thoughts. I am still working on the breathing for this song, Perhaps that is creating the timing break with lyrics. Definitely will work on a bridge after verse three, just not there yet. I do like to revisit songs to see how they can be improved. I have to admit though, for some reason I tend tend to prefer changing the music, strum or picking pattern to changing lyrics. If you get a chance please check out "Eve of my destruction". I would welcome your input. Thanks again.
Nice guitar melody. Again, kind of hard to understand the words. I think part of this is the fact that you're recording on your computer. The "white noise" is a bit much throughout the recording. What program are you using? you might want to run it all through a mastering session. This should bring the quality up.

Those comments are really all about the recording quality, and you already said it's not the final cut... so, The song itself... I like. This is very poetic, which lends itself to your genre. You have a way with imagery. It's a very reassuring song. God singing to us His promises. Good job!
Thanks for listening. I am using the Sony Acid Music studio software and a Tascam US 122L USB audio/midi interface and one external mic. I recorded both songs with guitar and vocal on the same track (playing and singing at the same time). Maybe I should join the "recording" discussion group. Any hints or tips are welcome.
I think I will take this to a friend for mastering.
