Hello guys.. This song was made for a couple who are getting married this Dec. 19th. Please do post your comments and feedback.. There's an audio sample below..

CAUGHT IN TIME

Take me beyond the memories of yesterday
Hold me close, stay so close
Guide me to where the future eagerly awaits
Keep me here, keep me near

For I have dreamt to wake each morning
Lying next to you
Safe in your loving arms

Now I realize I don’t have to dream
For you are with me, I have nothing to fear
Your amazing love has caught me in time
And deep within my heart I know it’s love

They have tried to ask me how did I find
Your true love, your sweet love
Many times I thought for answers
But what have I got
Surprisingly, I could just feel

For I have loved you from the start
I’ll never ever doubt
And we will live our life together
Sheltered from above

Now I realize I don’t have to dream
For you are with me
I have nothing to fear
Your amazing love has caught me in time
And deep within my heart I know it’s love
You reach for my hands
Our fingers entwined
I look in your eyes
Your promises I find

For I have dreamt to wake each morning
Lying next to you
Safe in your loving arms

Now I realize I don’t have to dream
For you are with me
I have nothing to fear
Your amazing love has caught me in time
And deep within my heart I know it’s love

Now I realize I don’t have to dream
For you are with me
I have nothing to fear
Your amazing love has caught me in time
And deep within my heart I know it’s love
And deep within my heart I know it’s love
And deep within my heart I know it’s love
I know it’s love

This is a good song. I have a couple thoughts on how it might sound a bit better to me. I offer them for your consideration. They are yours to use or regect, no feelings hurt. :)

the verse is strong, the chours is a bit weak. the lines read straight thru have little rhythmic interest. As in the cool effect the second line of the verse has because it has that cool break of the phrase. that's my general observastion.

A few thoughts that could help it be better - maybe:

1. On the second line of the verse, use accents. the way I hear it in mt head, the accents are different in the first verse than the second. It would go:
HOLD me CLOSE, STAY so CLOSE
KEEP me HERE, KEEP me NEAR

Your TRUE love, your SWEET love
SurPRISingLY, _I_ could just FEEL

it could give the lines more impact, more power, more focus on the important words in each phrase.

(2) the chorus - if you allowed a space in the middle of each phrase, it gives the lyrics time to penetrate, and in my mind makes the music more interesting

(3) after second time you use the bridge and you ramp back up to the chorus bigger, I would waitkeep the chours soft, like the first time it's played, or even less. THEN drive it up hard and heavy between that chorus and the one that follows.

(4) don't sing the "it's love" every time you do the last line of the chorus. Let it be implied - and longed for - at some point. Maybe between the two repeats of the chorus at the end, or perhaps in the tag.
i.e.
(playing softly) And deep within my heart I know... (dramatic build in energy. not the worst place for a key change if you dare)Now I realize I don’t have to dream
or
Your amazing love has caught me in time
And deep within my heart I know...
And deep within my heart I know...
And deep within my heart I know...
I know it’s love (or even just the last one, not all three)

just a few ideas to play with. I think your friends will be blessed by it, as is or with some tweeking.
thanks for the comment and the suggestions.. i'll try to make a new arrangement.. God bless..
Wow! That is good! Really, that is good. Um... I like the musical arrangement. Great chord choices both in the chorus and in the bridge. Pretty good lyrical content. There are few words that you could use to bring up to par with the rest of the song. Like "I know it’s love" I'm expecting to hear you end on a different word other than "love" at this point. There's a one or two more places in the song that is like that for me. But they don't take away for the whole feel of the song. Great voice! Would've liked to hear it more. The piano is a little over powering but I really this just a demo. But great melody and spirit throughout the whole song. It feels right... I can sense and feel the presence of God in your voice and playing and lyrics. I can go on about the things I love about this song. Awesome! You hit this out of the park! I would definitly do this for a church service. It may take them a while to get the song b/c it's not a simple chorus but after a few times i think they will. Okay it reminds of some of Hillsong stuff. No one can send you like Darlene, and Mia and those others. I now you!!! Thanks for sharing!
thanks, David.. i was really looking for an appropriate word for the ending, not just "love".. but it was a rush, and the wedding will take place just a few days when they asked me to do this one.. and for the Hillsong stuff? thanks.. sorry bout the loud piano accompaniment.. i just did this in a garage.. i wasn't able to edit the song.. just raw from the computer.. many thanks for the appreciation.. uhm.. i'll be uploading some of the worship songs i made.. hope to hear another feedback from you when it's done.. God bless..
This is a beautiful song. Very rich with passion and feeling! Your vocals are very strong. I like the phrasing and the arrangement. The only suggestion I would make on the arrangement is after the bridge go straight to a quiet chorus rather than singing the prechorus again. Eitherway, it will be awesome.
Well done!! The wedding couple is going to be blessed!
Paul
that was the first arrangement, Paul.. but the couple suggested the chorus to be powerful as soon as the prechorus is sung after the bridge.. well, it's their wedding, so i just have to comply with what they like to make their day great.. anyway, thanks for the suggestion.. hope to hear from you again when i'll be posting my other songs.. The Lord bless you..
