Pastors Wives

I am a worship pastor's wife, a mom and singer/songwriter. I've met a couple of PW's here on WTR and thought we could encourage, pray and help each other as we serve our husbands and our churches.

We have been in ministry since 2001. We are now in a Presbyterian Church.

Wow Crystal. I love leading worship with my husband. I am glad to hear you and your husband love working together. So are your still in ministry or did you have to go back to work in a secular enviornment? What church denomination do you come from?

Hey Lara! Well, I'm actually a worship pastor but my husband is too...so I guess that would make me a PW and him a PH :) We are both on staff at the church and I must say, that has been a really awesome experience for us. It hasn't always been like that for us....several years ago, I had to leave ministry for a while and do the secular employment thing...even though ministry has it's ups and downs I wouldn't trade it for anything!

For me, I'm more of a private individual. Yes, I am in the public eye a lot but I don't feel everyone needs to know everything about me & my family.

What are your thoughts about sharing your life with others? I started doing video logs and blogs with pictures on my website. It's kinda fun and kinda weird. I know as pastors wives we are in the public eye a lot. Do you want your lives to be private or do you think it is important to be transparent and open? I think we will leave this site public because it is easier for other PW or PHs to join. If we need prayer or want to discuss something personal maybe we could just email it to someone we have connected with here that we trust. Will that work?

I'm ok with the group either way ~ private or not. If you do go private, maybe consider renaming it so the title includes Daniel and other men who are "Pastor's Spouses"

A nice development about that "Pastors & Wives Pastors & Spouses Ministers & Mates Ministry Team Retreat is that when the wives break off to talk about womanly things, the male spouses get 2 hours of free time per session! Talk about a great deal! While my wife is stuck learning about how to prevent burnout in ministry, I'm preventing it by hiking, kayaking on the lake, or just taking a nap. BOOYAH!
