Rich, I go to an Assembly of God Church in Far Northern California.  My pastor is a good bass player who likes jazz (I don't) but I think he is much more musically bold and creative than most with an open mind.  After coming out of an abusive church situation before landing there eight months ago, he has been used by the Lord greatly as an instrument in my healing.  After all, he likes whistle so it shows at least he has musical brilliance! All the musicians I have run into here are surprised by the whistle because they have never heard one so it is always funny to me.

Welcome Shaun!

Can't hide yer Celtic-ness with a name like that..

Whistle/Swords=awesome!

A few years ago, we splurged on a Chieftain fixed low-D, and I like it very much.

Had a Suzatto PVC before that, and the pitch of the new one was just spot on solid.

mmmm Davey Spillane...

Hi guys

I'm an Aussie worship leader but I love Celtic style music. I'm a huge fan of The Pogues (yes, they're not very edifying, but I adore them nonetheless), Davey Spillane, even The Corrs, and of course Robin Mark. I am trying to teach myself Tin Whistle and can play some Pogues stuff and a little bit of the Corrs, but I'm struggling to get any good. I guess it doesn't help that my kids use my whistles as swords when they're playing sword fights. One day I plan to buy a low whistle. I'd love to incorporate them in my worship one day, but I am also the main guitarist and vocalist, so that may be a little difficult!

Yup, play both high and low whistle in church every Sunday.  If it ain't celtic I make it so.  I am hanging around the bodhran a little but am not allowed to put down the whistle at church so I don't know how much bodhran playing is going to benefit anything.  I play guitar and piano so I get a little frustrated at times not ever being able to use them in worship but what do you do.  I like to play other things too and maybe someday there will be a chance.
