Good Day Hank

You are most welcome in Zim.  Excited about your medical outreach.  Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil.  Great footsteps to be following in.

We thank God for the hand of healing He put in the surgeons and pray that your wife is fully recovered.

I hope that Kelvin is around by the time you visit Zim next.  I will look forward to meeting with you.  Sunningdale is not far from where I work.  It would be great to connect you with our medical teams too.  Bring your wife with, she could do with a break in a country with outstanding beauty.  (of course I'm biased).

Hi, David -- welcome to the group. What's your background with Africa? Got stories or insight to share?

And hello, Kelvin & Wilhelm -- I didn't make Sunningdale, Zim last month due to my wife's surgery. I think we're going to start bringing mission teams twice a year to partner with the church and possibly to start a full-time medical clinic there. I do want to look you all up when I know for sure when I'll be in Zim.

Hi Guys,

I really wish I could contribute more to this group, but unfortunately I have very little knowledge. Doesn't mean to say I'm not interested though - I am - and I am learning such alot through reading the discussions.

Thanks. May God bless you all this Christmas and always.

I am a worship leader in the United States and have been to Africa two times, specifically Rwanda. The first time we went we sang to the people. My heart broke because I wanted to really worship with my African brothers and sisters in one heart and one voice. This past April we came prepared with a couple songs in Kinyarwandan. It was like heaven on earth to lift up our Great God in one voice. We had other songs prepared in English but never did do them...it is much better to worship with someone than to sing to them. :)

my sincere gladness to be part of this site. worshiping here differs in presentation and timing in keeping the congregation alive without many taking some naps during preaching hours, we are to keep the devil away from worship hours.

I totally agree that it is about relationship, and God looks at the heart from where the worship flows so He could blink at some things that are not great. It does not negate the fact that as worshippers we should seek to have the standard of excellence that reflects our God. In many cases worship leaders have not been taught the basics such a listening to the Holy Spirit, following his promptings and choice of songs. When we are told by Jesus in John chapter 4 that the day is now when true worshippers will worship in spirit and in truth we need to take that seriously. When we worship in Spirit, it is the Holy Spirit. God knows where He itches and where He wants to be scratched so we should give Him the worship how and where He wants it. Now God does blink at the sincere ignorant heart but we are to move to maturity. For too long worship in the African church has been about time filling not worshipping God. It is kind of something we do and don't even always know why. God said, 'My people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge.' Do pastors, worship leaders and even congregants have an understanding of worship?
