I have been playing for many years but now have problems caused by my callouses. The tips of my chording hand fingers actually look as though I took a razor blade and sliced the very tips of my fingers off where they are now flat. On top of that, when I play, the callouses dent where I am pressing on the strings. Both of these are causing me to have increasing difficulty in changing chords (the crease makes my finger want to hang on a string or go to the same position on the next chord played) or I am getting some buzzing from not being able to press the string hard enough because of the flattened area and/or the crease. Any one else have this problem? Anything I can do? I do occasionally remove part of the callous but that only helps slightly and of course increases the pain level like I am starting over. Open to suggestions! Thanks.
