Aaron, glad you got to witness some Hedges! Good stuff. He's dead now unfortunately. He was in a class all his own like Hendrix. I too like a natural sound and put my Chorus on the lowest settings. What I like about it is the thickening sound and beef it gives my Martin. But I am NOT a techie so I don't know much about other effects. I will certainly look into the ones you mentioned though. My husband plays electric lead guitar and may have some of those lying around. I don't like a synthetic processed sound that is obvious and I too like big, thick and full. Sometimes what is heard in the monitor is wholly different than what is coming out of the mains. I don't quite understand that!
I'm not familiar with Bebo but I've heard of him. I'll google him as well. Blessings to you and Merry Christmas!
Taylor 714CE Grand Auditorium, Taylor 814CE Limited Edition, Gibson Chet Atkins, Eric Clapton Stratocaster, Yahama classical, Alvarez jumbo sunburst. I use Elixer strings on all except the Gibson Chet Atkins and Yahama classical - since they are nylon string guitars I use Savarez red (high tension).
i have an ovation cs257 celebrity deluxe which i use frequently when on stage, and a 1979 yamha fg770s that my wife bought for me a cuole of months ago, the yamaha has a beautiful full sound and the ovation sounds pretty good when plugged in, still hoping to get a samick d7ce someday for the money samicks cannot be beat
Hello everyone, there are some great guitars out there. However, My favorite is my McPherson 5.0 Striped Macassar Ebony/engleman spruce wood guitar made in Sparta Wisconsin. After visiting the factory to see the process of building, I was amazed. My words are "Spirit of Excellence" No glue seems, no saw dust. They are built as flawless as one can build an instrument. They were nice to me and made some custom bridge saddles to accomodate my playing style.

I praise God for the opportunity they gave me to be a McPherson endorsee. My life as a worship leader has changed because the guitar sounds great plugged and unplugged.(LR Baggs pickup system) It's something about playing an instrument made with a spirit of excellence. Excellence pleases God. The tones and the ring of this instrument sets an atmosphere that can be greatly appreciated by many.

Matt McPherson is a wonderful Christian man who donates the proceeds of these guitars to missions and charity. I was blown away to know that in meeting him. Wonderful man of God. This is not a sales pitch but call McPherson guitars@608-366-1407 and ask for Larry Klenc. Tell him Fitz sent you. He will talk to you about them in detail. God bless everyone.
I have a Samick Greg Bennett signature D5 - CE. It's a solid top with grover tuners, and it sounds and plays amazingly! It's an incredible, unheard-of value too. It only cost me $330 new from the store because it isn't name brand. I normally would just use D'addario light gauge, phosphor-bronze strings, but when I had my guitar set up, the technician strung it with some 80/20 Martins that I don't really care for too much. I wish I had a Takamine NEX guitar for secondary work, but hey, you get what you get.
I use a Taylor 810 and a Goodall
I have a Goodall - by far the best guitar I've ever had. (By far the most expensive, too.)

I have found that the Goodall sounds best completely clean - no effects can improve the sound it kicks out. Its a grand concert (soft bend cutaway) with KOA back and side, Alaskan sitka spruce front, LR Baggs iBeam pickup, three doves on the neck, etc. (OK guys, no ribbing about how the doves improve the sound quality...)

You can see it (sort of) at http://www.worshiptherock.com/video/silentnight-1
Alvarez made from Koa wood ... really beautiful wood grain, and nice chrome hardware ... thin body Acoustic/Electric with on-board parametric EQ and notch filter.
I have 3, My primary guitar for leading in service is an Alvarez Yari DY67 (Normally strung with Marquees (lights) as it, unlike me hates Elixer Nano's) For leading small groups I use my Taylor Big Baby laced with Elixers : ), and my third is a bit of a novelty, a Fender Avalon passed down to me by my mother.
I recently picked up a Taylor 414 ce ltd. Very balanced sound with the expression system pickups. Feels great too!
I'm using an Ibanez Art Wood AWS1000ece-nt. Really nice guitar and reasonably priced: MSRP = about $1150, but you can find for $800.
I play a Takemine EG330SC dreadnought, an Epiphone EJ200C jumbo, but my primary guitar for leading worship is my Taylor 416ce, Grand Symphony.
