Hey Matt! Great name, BTW. My son's name is Matt. :-) The recordings are more of an online collaboration effort in a songwriters group I belong to over at theworshipcommunity.com. We use Kompoz.com as our collaboration tool, and the track recordings may be done in the comfort of the musician's home and at any time. As for me, I would really like to find guitar players who are willing to use their creativity to develop chords for the songs I write since I'm simply a vocalist/songwriter. Does this sound like something of interest? If so, friend me and send me a private message, and I can give you more details. Thanks, and blessings to you.

I play a Washburn D46SCE. Good onboard electronics. I run straight to the board during services. On recordings I use a touch of stereo chorus/flanger from the CUBASE library. Thinking about getting a stereo chorus pedal, but don't want to fall into a dependent hole and use it too much. I use D'Adderio .12 guage bronze strings. I used to break strings a lot during my secular stage career of 20+ years. But since taking 25 years off and coming back to it only a couple of years ago for the Lord I have only broken one string - a D string.

Here's a sample of the type of stereo choruc/flanger effect I used in studio the other day. This is a project in the works and is by no means complete.

Hey guys I just learned to play another well known praise song (You Never Let Go-Matt Redman) easily by just using the crash course/pop quiz method: just play. (to explain) If you know what the chords are just by how they sound and know where to slide your rolling capo to and just play...it's amazing and God awesome that you don't choke on a pre-test like this! WOW! God IS awesome!

I use a Taylor 410CE which is old enough that it has the Fishman electronics. I've heard so many others complain about the new Taylor electronics I feel thankful mine has Fishman. I've noticed that most professionals are using Taylors, Takamine and many are still using Gibsons. I'm beginning to notice more and more McPherson's but am very happy with my Taylor. I also have a Mexican Fender Strat and a Gibson SG GT that I use in worship.

I like an acoustic guitar to sound like one - not an electric one when amped up. I play an Ibanez acoustic with a sweet "on board" EQ, it really improves the sound through the PA from its "off the shelf" sound which is a bit thin and tinnie. Because the onboard amp is so good, I tend to plug back to the Board direct through an Active D.I box rather than my Fender amp, which is designed for electric rather than acoustic giotars. I am interested in what your expereince is.
