Just noticed no recent activity here, so I thought I put up the song sets we actually played this weekend on NRV WTE #57. (minus several songs at other times)  I will recommend in the way of new songs: "I Give Myself Away" by William McDowell.  It makes a great Changing our World, Christian Action, Discipleship or 4th Day song.  The Church badly needs more Christian Action songs.  Our pilgrims picked it up and ran with it Friday PM, so I let them play/lead from there on.  If you have the Celtic chops, I'd also recommend "Build Your Kingdom" by Rend Collective Experiment.

Also, 10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord)" by Matt Redman is a great choice - excellent theology, phrasing, melody, and ... it's been making rounds through the churches and over the airwaves (or cyberspace) for about a year now.  :At your Name" by Tim Hughes & Phil Wickham is also strong for several of the same reasons, although not quite as well known.

"One Thing Remains" by Bethel/Jesus Culture, well known by the younger set, is a very compelling (almost anthem-ic) proclamation of God's love and faithfulness strongly rooted in Romans 8

"Set A Fire" by Will Regan and the United Pursuit Band & "Mighty Breath Of God" by Jesus Culture can be repeated as long as desired in open worship as heart cries for God's Spirit to move on and in us.

Finally, "Break Every Chain" by Will Regan &UPB and "Just One Touch From The King" by Godfrey Birtill are great songs proclaiming God's deliverance from bondage.

DeColores! You missed a three day movement, Tres Dias. I went on a walk to Emmaus in Texas first but for 8 years now have led worship in each weekend here along with fulfilling other duties here in Germany. I have also enjoyed serving the three weekends of Tres Dias of Denmark.

Just a drive by to mention Zimbabwe. I went with 10 Tennesseans fro the Kodak/Sevierville area, including several GSM Emmaus brothers and sisters. I wore my cross on the outside, as I'm wont to do in non-traditional church settings like missions and even rock festivals. At the closing ceremony, I got a "De Colores" from a Zimbabwean -- turns out that's one of the 60-something countries with WTE. :). Tony wore his cross too, when he preached and I lead Worship. Check my post in "African Worship Leaders" for more info. And be sure to search my video for "No Crying In Heaven" on YouTube if you're feeling over hydrated.

ps)  If you want recordings or chord sheets of any, let me know.

p2s)  We call that grouping late in the set "Reign, Rain" ... unfortunately, I'm now a pariah, as it yet again literally rained on us during Candlelight!  I try to tell them God isn't superstitious, but they reply that He *does* have a sense of humor. ;)

I was out of the conf room in background this past weekend, so I ended up leading worship at Candlelight.  I had only collected one set of chord sheets, but the musicians that came were so much better than I that only 2 looked off the sheet with me, and one was just making sure of the word and relaying the keys to the rest of "the band".  We had electric bass, 2 mandolins, electric guitar, djembe, ukelele, 2 6 string acoustics and 2 12 strings ... we probably generated enough sound. ;)

Anyway, remembering that each community has their songs, styles and traditions, and that I like to sneak in new stuff where I can, the following was our song set:

I Could Run Away/Only You/Jesus, Lover Of My Soul [Cory Asbury]

Set A Fire [Will Reagan & United Pursuit Band]

Blessed Assurance

Leaning On The Everlasting Arms

God Is Good, All The Time [Don Moen]

Come On [Rend Collective Experiment]

Come, Now Is The Time To Worship [Brian Doerksen]

Here I Am To Worship [Matt Redmon]

Hallelujah (Your Love Is Amazing) [Brian Doerksen]

It's Amazing [Tony Congi]

Open The Eyes Of My Heart [Paul Baloche]

Days Of Elijah [Robin Mark]

How Great Thou Art

How Great Is Our God [Chris Tomlin]

Jesus, You Reign [Will Rayburn]

Freedom Reigns [Jesus Culture]

Let It Rain [Pocket Full Of Rocks]

Grace like Rain [Todd Agnew]

Abundance Of Rain [Will Rayburn]

Close Enough To Breathe [Will Rayburn]

How He Loves [John Mark McMillan]

A Shield About Me [Donn Thomas]

Well, we've just had 12 1/2 hours of teaming this weekend and here are the songs I've covered/taught. We put all the songs for each set into one PowerPoint. (I've got EasyWorship, but the ALDs aren't comfortable with it yet.) I know the songs aren't finalized and that some haven't given me their talk song yet. Also, I realize each community has songs and styles that are traditional, so I try to be sensitive to include hymns, camp-meeting songs, bible-school ditties, CCM, Praise & Worship and even 20-35 year-old scripture songs -- something for everyone.

First Session:
DeColores
Blessing songs
Sing Alleluia To The Lord
They'll Know We Are Christians By Our Love
Create In Me A Clean Heart

Second Session:
The Happy Song
Trading My Sorrows
I Saw The Light
I'll Fly Away
Blessed Assurance
Just A Little Talk With Jesus

Prevenient Grace:
My Life Is In You Lord
Hallelujah (Your Love Is Amazing)
You're Worthy Of My Praise
I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever

Communion: Let The River Flow

Priesthood:
This Is The Day
He Has Made Me Glad
I Will Call Upon The Lord
Majesty
Lord, I Lift Your Name On High
I Go To The Rock
He Reigns

Justifying Grace:
Days Of Elijah
Open The Eyes Of My Heart, Lord
Our God
How Great Is Our God

Life Of Piety:
God Is Good All The Time
You Are My All In All
As The Deer
Close Enough To Breathe
Change My Heart, O God
Just A Closer Walk With Thee

Growth Through Study:
A Shield About Me
Thy Word
Ancient Words
Wonderful Words Of Life

Freely, Freely
Abundance Of Rain
Let It Rain

Hi, Jo!

We're 90 miles up I-81 from Bristol. Our Community Spiritual Director, Jim Jenkins, walked originally on Great Smoky Mountains (#8 maybe?). It'd be fun to drive down for a gathering in Sevierville sometime.

God gifted me with a melody for "Prayer to the Holy Spirit" as well. I joined a well established reunion group after my walk and felt embarrassed that they never had to pull out their purple books for the Prayer -- so I decided I remembered scriptures best by singing them. I had been playing around with with Pachelbel's Canon with my lead guitarist after practice the night before. I'll upload it sometime, but so far I only have the ragged capture-it-on-the-BlackBerry-before-I-forget-it version.

A message from Jo Carr to all members of Walk To Emmaus / Cursillio Praise & Worship Leaders on Worship The Rock!

DE COLORES! my brothers and sisters who are Worship musicians for Emmaus and Cursillio,
I pray you are all well and your Emmaus communities are thriving. I am in East TN and play guitar and lead worship and praise for gatherings in Sevierville, TN of the Great Smoky Mountain Emmaus Community.
I thought I'd find fellow musicians on here... and I have!
There are 5 of us now!
Hope U are all having a BLESSED summer and that we can communicate more together in the future.
Post an update sometime if you have a chance.

Our next Sevierville gathering is July 24th. We have a couple from the N. GA Praise team & also Emmaus in Atlanta, that brought an original of "PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT" that we have begun using at each gathering.
I hope to pass along to some of you a recording of it when I get a audio interface for my Dell. If you recall, that prayer is what we pray at each reunion, gathering, fourth day meeting and on the Walk. It is great and needs to be SHARED!!!!

Blessings Be Unto ALL! Wishing you a marvelous Celebration of our Country's Independence day!

WALKING in HIS LOVE, Jo
