Worship The Rock - Worship Leader Forum & Social Network

Worship Leaders Network | Worship Leader Forum | Worship Leader Resources & Jobs

Each month we share our worship set lists with other members by simply
copying and pasting our lists below. Please join us in sharing your
worship set lists for September 2010 here.

This is a valuable resource as it's a great way of getting new song ideas to include in
our own set lists. Please feel free to include as much (or as little)
detail as possible - i.e. song name, songwriter name (e.g. artists
name), when the song was written, what key you play it in, how the song
"went down" with your congregation, how you merged it with another song
etc.

You can post worship set lists from your Sunday services as well as any mid-week, cell group/house group meetings.

Thanks for participating!

We are a small church (<50) making the transition to a blended service. We have a piano and guitar at the moment. We sing traditional hymns but I have been incorporating "praise chorus'" into the AM services for about a month.

Last Sunday, Sept. 5th, our chorus' were:
We Have Come into His House - Eb - verses 1 and 2
Holy Ground - Eb - chorus twice
I Love You Lord - Eb - twice
then transitioned back into the 3rd verse of We Have Come into His House

This seemed to flow the best so far. God was gracious to us last week.

Until,

Steve

Hello Gman,

Some very interesting songs there on this list. I was wondering if you do a large number of secular songs, and if you could let us know some of the others that you use.
Rob,

I wouldn't say we do a large number, but it is growing. We seem to be leaning toward more "secular" songs and more traditional hymns lately. We are just finding it harder and harder to find good songs from the worship genre I guess. I'm not saying there aren't any good songs...it's just becoming more difficult to find them. I also want to say that we don't choose "secular" songs as an outreach tactic or to be relevant. At our church we believe that if there is any truth or beauty within a song, that truth or beauty could only come from God, regardless of what the author of that song believes about God. Here are some songs we do, or plan to do:
In the Sun - Joseph Arthur
Real Love - David Gray
Everything - Lifehouse
Everything - Ben Harper
Come All You Weary - Thrice
All I Want is You - U2
This Is Your Life - Switchfoot
The Northern - alexisonfire
Breathe Me - Sia
Kind and Generous - Natalie Merchant
Let it Rain - Amanda Marshall
Fly Like and Eagle - Steve Miller Band

That's all I can come up with for now. If I think of more I'll let you know.
I forgot..

One Love - Bob Marley

Dave Matthews version of The Maker by Daniel Lanois. Check out a Dave Matthews DVD called Live at Radio City Music Hall. The whole show is amazing, but The Maker is absolutely beautiful.
Cool! I want to come to your worship service! I find it energizing when we can bring the outside world into worship and then take our inside of worship world outside into the world. On Aug. 29th we did "Calling All Angels" as recorded by Train.
