Sometimes I feel thrashed by the enemy. Especially right before a new event. It seems that when I most need to be preparing and practicing that people come at me from every angle. I am performing tomorrow night at a small restaurant and it is my hope and the owners desire to have a worship service there in the near future.
At the same time three different people (men) found ways to find fault with me and discount my feelings. Also, I took a fall on some concrete and banged myself up a bit.
I really feel inadequate and afraid. I know I can not do this without Jesus. The town I am entering in is less than 1% churched and there is lots of Wicca and Buddhist Worship. It is crank infested and very toxic.
I would appreciate prayer and also hearing about others' experiences and suggestions which arise from the Holy Spirit's leading.

SonShine, I can relate. I have led worship in two different areas that were under demonic oppresion due to the heavy practice of occultism and witchcraft. I've learned a coupld of things. First these powers seek to dominate a region through controlling the atmosphere or spiritual climate. Anytime a church in the area would begin to experience breakthrough they also began to experience heavy spiritual warfare sometimes even to the point of wiccans meeting in the vicinity of the church to pray against the move of God or going to the church in the dark for the same purposes. I know the type of warfare around breaking into such an area can be intense. These forces target pastors, worship leaders and prophets. Pastors because they are the head of the house, worship leaders because they wrest control of the atmosphere back over to the light and piece through the darkness allowing heaven to break back into earthly world, and prophets because they stand before the throne of God, then declare into the world, "Here is the enemy, this is what he is doing."

Stand strong and know that he that dwells withing in in stronger than he that is in the world. Worship is a key weapon in the war and it is a war.

Make sure your spiritual covering is awared of whats going on and is keeping you in prayer. Having some prayer warriors around is not a bad idea either. May the Lord bless you and fill you with perfect light to shine brightly in the darkness and proclaim liberty to those oppressed in chains.
I don't deny that worship is helpful, but the Word indicates that our weapons of warfare, as mentioned in Ephesians 6, are anything but worship. I'm not diminishing worship as a great and important tool, but God wanted us to know this:

"14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."

It's pretty simple really. Here are our weapons, and we aren't to worry about Satan. So whatever they're doing, praying to their demonic gods outside your service or whatever, it's irrelevant. Knowing that He is greater who is in us is the most important thing. And knowing that the real battles are in our own minds and spirits is also helpful, because the real weapons are there too.

We aren't really doing spiritual warfare if we're fixated on Satan and what his minions are up to.
Very well said Stevo.
As a worshipper, much less a worship leader, you are out in front of the army - so yes, you get hit first but that's the time to pull out your 4x4 and have at 'em 1John 4:4 YOU ARE OF GOD...... AND HAVE OVERCOME THEM, BECAUSE HE WHO IS IN YOU IS GREATER THAN HE WHO IS IN THE WORLD......... so when the enemy starts flapping his lies at you or loading you down with GARBAGE, pull out that 4x4 and just declare "greater is He who is in me" - that should shut him up in short order.
And it's so amazing how the enemy keeps using the same strategies over and over and over. It is so great that we serve a God who is VERY VERY BIG and VERY VERY SMART!!! Hallelujah
Just read your post. Hope your concert went well and that you feel more confident as a result. We just went through a similar fire storm following a concert we gave with two other bands. What we saw is that God is FAITHFUL ALL the time with His promises. He turned an attack from the enemy into a beautiful testimony of His love and kindness. He will do the same for you.

Blessings and Peace to you!

We do not war against the flesh but of the principalities and power of darkness of this world. It is indeed a spiritual stuggle and there are many referances in the Bible to our fight and stand against Satan and his armies. I believe that we as Christians need to take a stand, take a stand for the truth and love because if you do not do this, then you do not stand for the faith as a warrior of Christ and His Kingdom. The enemy wants to pull us away from God's Kingdom and follow the desires of the flesh. Fasting, penance and prayer are more than effective tools to wage battle against the unholy perpertrators of violence and hatred. We also need to pray for angelic assistance from on high, this is so important in our faith because if we are for God, His Son and the Holy Archangels, then who can be against us?
That's a big point. I'm trying to think of a scripture passage that relates to asking for angelic help.
I beleive there are angels, apostles and saints that are in the world that follow The Lord. I firmly believe this.
I do believe by the same token that you should be weary and alert for deceivers who come in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. Take the time to discern the spirits. My two cents for what it's worth.

Blessings,

Michael

"Then the owner of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do? I will send my son, whom I love; perhaps they will respect him.'

Luke 20:13
You can't think of a scripture that tells us to ask for angelic help?
So--do you pray to angels?
I don't pray to angels, but I know lots of people who do, and I keep hearing from the pulpit people telling me that I should be. Am I wrong?

All I can say is that I have got to be honest in my prayer and to Whom I am praying to. I don't feel any desire in my heart to pray to angels, so whether I am right or wrong in this, for me to pray to angels would not be genuine prayer 'on my part'. I can not of course speak for anyone else, I am only expressing my own very personal feelings as to how it is for me.
Absolutely. Any prayer that is not to God, Father, Son or Holy Spirit is something other than prayer..... I would say even talking of angels doing things rather than God can be dangerous in some circumstances. William Branham, Todd Bentley spring to mind. Not saying any reference to angelic activity is wrong of course, but the focus should be Jesus, God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, Jesus, God, Jesus, God, etd
